  1. No never feed raw meat, make sure it is correctly cooked Was that mentioned in this thread ?
  2. No you dont have to make the seed mix available all day & if you do then i guarantee Noah will ignore the pellets in favour of the seed ! perhaps limit to one bowl a day,as they do love their seed
  3. Do you mean kaytee ? My macaw eats Kaytee Rainbow Exact pellets,my greys have the Kaytee Nutra-Puffs & treats they do in that range as treats. Are you looking for a pellet for your grey ?
  4. If Rexxy is eating pellets which are crunchy then in theory he shouldnt have a problem eating other solid food. Some greys just prefer their veggies for example cooked & served slightly warm.Continue to offer him different foods, as he is so young this is a good time for him to accept different textures & foods. Here is a link for introducing foods... http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/53831-tips-for-getting-your-grey-to-eattry-new-foods.html
  5. Pretty bird species specific is a pellet, it will look completely different from the seed/nut mix you have been feeding Noah. With pellets it is advised that they are available at all times as you are doing The pellets are fine alongside the veggies.Try & vary his diet at times, perhaps offer him a little, pasta, rice etc mixed in with his veggies.Does Noah eat fruit ? I have included two links for you,the first on what are members feed their greys & the second on introducing new foods... http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/24030-whats-your-greys-diet.html http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/53831-tips-for-getting-your-grey-to-eattry-new-foods.html

  9. As long as the volume wasnt to high, i dont see a problem but mine seem to settle better with the silence.
  10. Was the file to big ? i know sometimes mine are & i have to edit them first.Im sure others will come up with an alternative
  11. Susan i put my videos on photobucket
  12. Can someone please tell me why i spend a small fortune on toys & this little girl has more fun with her pink plastic bowl :pinch:
  13. Three days is very little time for him to adjust but he seems confident enough in that he steps up for you. There is never any guarantees that a grey will mimic speech, some are happy to whistle their time away.Engage him in conversation, talk to him etc.. one way to tell if he is listening intently to you is he should tilt his head towards one side .Please dont be too upset if he doesn't talk, they have so much more to offer

    Curry?!

To be honest i have never feed my own greys curry, they do have rice.I have searched the net but alot of the advice offered is contradicting, some say some of the above.some say not,the coriander for example on many sites is classed as toxic.Personally being this unsure i wouldnt feed the curry, there are so many alternatives & to be honest curry isn't a necessity in their diet.
  15. Believe me you wouldnt Big_Squishy :pinch:
  16. My 4 greys take no notice, but to be honest they dont get too many spiders in their bird room.My macaw is petrified of anything flying near her It depends on the individual grey im sure.
  17. I would personally wait a little before trying to teach the "step up " 6 days is such a short time for him to adjust to a new home & owners.just take each day as it comes, don't have too high expectations of him at the moment in time.Let him gain some confidence & trust in you.Time & patience will reap you the rewards in the long run
  18. Hi pugnacious & Welcome to the forum We look forward to hearing more from you & Smoke.
  19. Now can we {Communicate-00020115}
  20. I have included a link on hand feeding baby greys,it is a general guideline but will give you a good idea on how much each baby should be eating & on what time scale.Further down in the link is a section on weaning. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/73409-handfeeding-a-baby-grey.html This link carries a word of warning on the possible associated risks of hand feeding... http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/73842-associated-risks-of-hand-feeding.html
  21. Nothing wrong in being in your 40's tarnoid
  22. It is quite possible & definitely worth enquiring about, perhaps give them a ring & discuss your concerns about leaving your new baby while you are away. Many breeders are more than happy to have their babies back & it will show the commitment on your part by putting your babies welfare first Keep us updated..
