  1. {Feel-bad-0002006A} Dan that made me cry, but wonderful words, so touching & so true & yes baggage & all i want Indy & will love him unconditionally the rest of my days. Karma to you hunny ( sorry Kim )
  2. Indy's home Not a peep out of him in the car ride which was 2 1/2 hours.I toweled him, which he must be use to as he didn't struggle or go to bite, bless him.He went straight for a corner perch which i think will be his security corner,he did have a climb around the cage & eventually did eat some food.He just looks so sad with big round eyes looking at me, but i feel he is taking everything in, them eyes follow me everywhere. Now the rehabilitation of this sweet little guy starts,a long road ahead but i will take it step by step.Thank you all for being concerned & intrested in Indy, i feel you guys are here with me in spirit

  5. i mean i am making them xmas crackers to play with
  6. The CAG and TAG as a baby parrots will have dark grey to black eyes up until they are roughly 6 months of age when their eye color starts to lighten. By the time they reach a year, their eyes become a pale grey color. At about 1.5 to 2 yrs their eyes will turn a pale straw color. And lastly at about 3-4 years of age, they will have a light yellow iris. This is one way to be able to determine an estimate of how old a baby is when visiting bird stores. Grey's usually reach maturity at about 4-5 years of age.
  7. Good advice ziggy Lusya don't decrease the fruit & veg, i give mainly soaked tropical fruit in the morning, then i leave dishes out with seed which is a high quality avian specific mix along with pellets, mine like their vegetables in the evening along with maybe scrambled egg or soaked pulses.work out a routine that suits izzie.
  8. Thanks spookyhurst yes i agree i thought he would have been a plucker to due to his environment & quality of life,it goes to show what a little soldier he must be
  9. Usually Regurgitating & vomiting are two separate things.A bird that is regurgitating will make head bobbing movements & you will see the neck stretch.food is brought up & deposited on to you.Vomitimg is usually a flick of the head movement. From what you describe i don't think he was regurgitating food for you.Keep a close eye on him as vomiting can be a sign of illness but it sounds as if he may have ate to much.
  10. So we can conclude Merlin doesn't appreciate your choice of music.

  15. Hi Birgranna, Yes he has a split ring & i am planning on having it removed at some point. We believe Indy was an import before the ban came in.As i said we think he was badly broken in & has spent most of the time in a small cage.We dont have much history on him but believe him to be 2-5 years old.He has been at my friends in quarantine,& has made slight progress,it will be a long road to get him to relise he is a bird & it;s ok to sing, make a mess etc.. but god willing & with the support from you wonderful guys on the forum i hope i can make some difference to his quality of life.
  16. Heres the first picture i have of my new rescue Indy & i will post & update you on our journey.
