Sorry that sounds really complicated, I live in Spain and that is really bad enough.... do you have a vet you can call from your own country? The ones in spain of course only speak spanish and it is already sat 17.23 so gone home for the weekend. I wish I could help you some more but I just don't know what to do. ummm I had parrot hotline number, which is run by an english man you could try that if you want. Let me know and I will find the info

where are you?

I spent many years living in Hong Kong and when I was learning cantonese I loved learning the names of animals because the direct translations can be so funny. Ying Mo is 'talking bird' not a funny one but I liked it.

Hi and welcome I have to agree with dan. I know you want to help your bird but you really shouldn't self medicate. I know it is tempting but it might not end as a quick fix, you could end up killing your bird by mistake....plus it is important to find out exactly what is wrong with him. I wish you all the vey best and ope you can resolve the situation asap regards

Hi and welcome, How old will he be when you bring him home? I hand weaned mine and I wouldn't suggest it if you have a choice. It is a lot of work and I things can go wrong if you don't stick to an exact schedule. You also need scales and a thermomitor. I believe that a bent spoon and a watery formula is the best...there are so many things to think of. PM me if you run into problems...regards

Hi, This is a problem I don't have so I really can't comment. Ying Mo eats everything but pellets. He hates them but it doesn't worry me because he happily eats every thing else. I would say mostly fruit and veg, I give him peanuts and some sunflower seeds as treats. He always has a seed mix in his pot but doesn't bother with it if anything else is there. Have you tried sprouting some seed for him, Ying Mo is crazy for that... regards

Hi I weaned my bird myself, sounds like you are doing well to me! You can't worry too much otherwise you will make yourelf crazy. I found that if you are worried about the crop the most important thing to make sure is that you have a watery formla. That way even if you over feed by accident things wont get impacted. You can PM me if you want. regards

Hi again, I have had him since a chick and weaned him myself, so he totally knows us and is totally comfortable in the house and around the dogs ect. He is know about 6 months old and in great health so no problem there. I think the problem is that he is just to fixated on me and if I leave the room or even don't look at him enough when he is free to fly around screams to get attention. I have been trying to totally ignore him when he screams and I have now changed the place for his cage. That has helped as it doesn't force me to have to spend every waking minute with him which I think is part of the problem. As I work from home we are always together. I hope it gets better yesterday PMS and a screaming bird....my poor husband! But since I have changed the local of the cage he has gone slightly quietier. Lets see and thanks for your suppoprt! regards

I will have a look and see if I can find the video they give you with the avaitor maybe I can down load it here if it is not too long. You can then see exactly how it is....

thanks I will try.....

Thanks Tari, My house is really quiet, I just have the radio on and since we have no kids ect no big noises. This behaviour only just started. I think it has something to do with the fact that he just wants my constant attention. So I will try to ignore him by putting his cage somewhere behind me so that he can't always make eye contact with me. He does do the telephone thing that you discribe...I will practise that. Thanks for your input. I really love my bird and when he is sweet he is a real lover but wow, the noise is really getting to me. I will do my best. Right now he is quiet because I am sitting next to him and he is chewing a wooden spoon but god forbid I should leave the room..... Anyway enough of my whinging thanks for your support I will keep you posted. regards

I wont take Ying Mo out of the cage before he poos. I sit in front of the cage and say poo poo poo and finally he got the message, kinda like Nevjoes bird and now we have no big poo problems. I have tiles in my house so accidents aren't that much of a problem. However I have noticed that if you don't wipe them up right away they can discolor the tiles. Must be the acid. The only poo that really scares me is the first one in the morning it is really a turbo turd. That one must be in the cage!

Hi, I have the avaitor as well and Ying Mo just loves it. I can do anything with him at the moment. At first he was pretty scared when cars drove past but now after talking to him and warning him that a car is coming he has settled down. I have tried to extend it with a retrackable dog lead but he doesn't seem to like that. He just wants to sit on me.

Wow, sorry to hear your story. I wish you all the very best and hope that you have much better luck should you choose to get another bird. regards

Hi everyone, In the last 10 days Ying Mo has started screaming almost incessantly for the past 10days. He is top fit, speeds hours out of his cage, I am home during the days so he gets loads of attention (maybe too much?!) I have tried not letting him out when he demands it and I have tried ignoring him, but he is making life a misery for me at the moment. I have not tried covering is cage yet, would that harm him. Any advise on this would be very appreciated because at the moment I am feeling like I am being chinese water tortured! At the moment he his sitting in his cage chewing his toys like like an angle! BIRD Please Please Please Help! Thanks Trina
