1. Ronda that sounds like excellent advice and it kinda goes along with a lot of the previously given advice and she will let you know when she is ready for more.
2. Have you tried soaking them in a little juice or mixing them with some other food? Some of the members have had success getting them to eat them that way. In fact in one of the threads a member ground them up in a meal form and mixed them in with other foods, you could try that. Have you tried other brands of pellets, the Harrisons I think are the best but if he would eat another brand, it would be better than not at all.
3. We never tire of hearing about each other greys, and especially a new one in a family that just joined so you talk about him all you want, we will listen and comment. The bond of trust takes time to build so don't rush it or worry about it, give Snoopy time and lots of patience and you will be rewarded with his love for a lifetime of happiness.
4. Sandy, glad you could update us on Snoopy and it sounds like it is going well for you and him. He found out biting you was not going to make you go away and so he quit and the bite when the cat was there was his way of alerting you to the danger of it. You seem to be doing an excellent job of working with him and starting to build the bond and trust that is so necessary for a good relationship with a grey. Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing more about the adventures of Snoopy.

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2007/10/01 03:12
5. No I was not aware of this for it is not a problem for me, but yes we need to come up with some other way so everyone that is a member can vote.:huh:
6. Then you better get busy and build lots of them for they will go quick at a bird show, good luck to you Joe.
7. Thats good Bronzboomer that he is eating some veggies and they do waste a lot but some of it goes in. Josey also loves sweet potatoes and I usually allow her to eat off my plate at dinner. Now vary it some, add different veggies and you got your grey to eat some good for him vegetables.
8. A few haven't but they are few and far between. {Emotions-00020070}
9. I agree, Atlas, the bird club I belong to has an annual bird fair and you can get all those things there at a cheaper cost.
10. That is such a lovely story of how you met your man, we have all heard the horror stories of meeting someone thru the internet but yours is one of the good ones. That was a hard thing to do but 10 years is a long time to go without someone in your life and to go for that long without sex, I don't know how old you are but it would not be easy for anyone at any age. Glad you have found your soulmate and may you two live a long and happy life together with Beckette.
11. Don't they all, well most of them do.:laugh:
12. Hello and welcome to the family, Siobhan, glad you could join us. You are finding out that you have an awesome creature in your grey. This is a common story of your grey loving you and not liking your spouse, and mine is no exception. Josey is my bird but she only tolerates my hubby, but she is gradually letting him do a little more for her so maybe eventually she will allow more. What is her name and you said you have had her for a year but how old is she and did you get her as a baby? We do have lots of information here in our topics and threads, read thru many of them for useful info on a variety of subjects. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask us anything, we will do our best to get you an answer as soon as possible and help you in any way we can. If you have any other photos besides the one in your avatar that you would like to post please do so, we love to admire each other's greys.
13. And we are loving every moment of it, I just love watching the baby grow right before your eyes. Yes I would be intimidated by their large beaks, and you bring up a good point about rehoming a large bird like that with baggage that you don't know about.
14. Not for the first one, just the second one. First one Second one {Love-00020118} {Emotions-00020120}
15. Thanks Barbara for a very informative post on eggbinding. I have a female also but she is not old enough for this to happen yet as she is only 16 months old. I am glad to hear that everything turned out well for Beckett and your suggestions will come in handy one day maybe for more than just me. Karma to you.
16. I have my fingers crossed for you.
17. Well look anyway, you never know you could luck out and find something, seek and ye shall find. Good luck.
18. Well in that case, I hope a rehomed B&G macaw comes into her possession soon so you and your hubby can have one of your very own. If it is meant to be it will happen Tracy.
19. I love that picture also and you can see the feet of another one on her shoulder, she must be an awesome woman with all the praise I have heard about her.
20. I know that Josey and especially Sunny will startle once in a while and fly off their perch and I would be afraid that would happen outside especially, I could not stand to lose either one of them like that, it would kill me.
21. Ronda you are doing all the right things, researching, asking questions and joining this forum, plus you sound like you really want this grey and give it all your love so how can you go wrong. We all question ourselves before undertaking such a huge step as this, but if this is what you want and I can tell it is, then you are well on your way to a wonderful lifetime relationship that will be one of the most rewarding of your life. Now that I have my Josey, I cannot imagine my life without her.:kiss: You are going to do just fine and I can't wait until you finally have her home and we get to see pictures of her.
22. Very well put Dan, I couldn't have said it better, you are the best at explaining. Thanks for a great post.:kiss:
23. Joe, he looks very content and happy there, but I don't see any kind of tether, aren't you worried about him being startled and flying away, I would be, but then that is my opinion and so I will close my mouth now, for I have said my piece. Thanks for sharing a wonderful picture of Hemingway. BTW, where is Serpico? Did you take him also?
24. Go for it Tracy, after all it's only money.:cheer:
25. Thanks Dan, what a wonderful clip for a hearty laugh on a Sunday morning. {Feel-good-0002006E}
