  1. Hello and welcome to the family, Angie, we are glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more from you and your flock. And you do have some flock, what with 2 greys, 4 B&G macaws, a greenwing macaw and a scarlet macaw. Wow you do have some large birds with those macaws. I commend you for taking in the second grey and am glad that both of your greys may get along, most of the time they won’t, but you must be doing something right and I am sure with your experience with parrots they both will flourish under your care. I usually suggest new members read thru our many threads here on various topics for lots of useful information but it looks like you may know more than we do at this point, so don’t be surprised if we pick your brain for ideas and suggestions. We would love to see pictures of all of your flock, especially the greys, if you have some you would like to share with us we would be more than happy. I am sure you have plenty of stories to tell, having that many birds, we would love to hear some of them if you would like to share some of them with us.
  2. You are too much Dan, I love your graphics, but when Josey eats spaghetti she does not sling it all over the place, it goes down her gullet, she gobbles it up like there was no tomorrow. You should try some and see how Dayo likes it, I bet he digs in.:woohoo:

  5. Dan, you have to try spaghetti on Dayo, it is a favorite of Josey's, any kind of pasta or rice is gobbled up. Just do as Zooky does, let him eat on the counter with ya, thats what Josey does and she eats right out of my plate, and then only the counter needs cleaning, wipe and all done.:laugh:
  6. I'm sorry this meant no bird for you but glad you smelled a rat before you sent any money, the internet is full of people preying on the unsuspecting and they get away with it all the time. Glad you were smart enough to know it was a scam, but a lot of others get taken in by these scum artists. Thanks for posting this and bringing this topic to our attention, it may prevent others from making a huge mistake, let the buyer beware.B)
  7. Sounds like you are making progress, slowly but surely, it takes time so keep at it and I am sure she will be eating out of your hand soon. Thanks for the update.
  8. The guys gave you some great advice, KatB, and keep working on it and you will eventually get them all. I'm sure he is making do in the bathroom but he will be glad to have his sanctuary back after you rid it of all the bugs.

  12. Thanks Siobhan for that insight into her grouchiness, they do need their rest and sleep and if they don't get it they are going to be harder to handle.
  13. Hello and welcome to the family, Will, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey. I am so sorry about Rico, but hopefully he did find a new home and is loved and well taken care of. I assume you won't be making the same mistake with this one. I presume he is still be handfed, when do you expect to be able to bring him home and what will you name him, since you already know its a male? If you have any specific questions feel free to ask us anything, we will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can. Please read thru any or all of our many threads here on various topics for lots of useful information. If you have a picture of your new cag or can get one, please post it for us to enjoy, we really love to see the babies, they are so adorable.
  14. I wouldn't worry about the plucking for now, she is still too young for that type of behavior but they do preen a lot, they like to have their feathers in proper order. More than likely if you provide a proper diet and adequate attention to your grey, she probably will not pluck, I would not worry at this point. Just make sure her needs are met and you spend quality time with her and allow her some out of cage time. She will start getting vocal any time now, but if you only brought her home a day or so ago, she is still aclimating herself to her new home and when she feels more comfortable she will start vocalizing. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about yourself and this grey.
  15. Sorry about that, but glad you can laugh even though it hurts. {Feel-bad-0002006A}
  16. Well someone is feeling a lot better and that makes me happy, thanks for the smile and right back at ya. {Feel-good-00020114}

  20. I agree Tracy, a very good post and one I will copy and post on fridge for reference.
  21. Hello and welcome to the family, Birdmom, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about your greys, Buddi and Charlie. Thanks so much for the detailed introduction, most of our new members can be a little stingy with the info but this helps us get to know you better for we are here to help one another. Sorry to hear that Buddi is a plucker but maybe you can get her straightened out and put that behind her. We have many threads with detailed information on various topics that may be of interest to you, please read thru them at your leisure for good info. If you want to ask specific questions that is fine also, we will do our best to answer as best as we can and help you in any way we can. We would love to see pictures of Buddi and Charlie, if you have some you would like to post, we always love seeing photos of each other's greys. As Dan stated, your vet is your best source of help, we give more opinion than fact but our experience, especially some of the ones who have had greys for years and years, acccounts for a lot.
  22. Dave always gives great advice, he knows his stuff and he is a greyt expert.
  23. We have another nice day here in VA, still pretty warm yet but cooler weather can't be far behind, I love those brisk cool fall nights.
