Sounds like a good idea, Lovie, to check in and see the progress of those who are trying to lose those pounds and get in shape. I have tried Weight Watchers also but I have decided I need the exercise as much as anything else so I am walking and I have joined Curves. Don't worry Frank, I will stay the course, I promise and you know I always keep my promises and Penny I will call you if that bowl of ice cream comes knocking on my door, I am going to be a good girl at least as far as this subject goes, but anything else, you better watch out................:whistle:

Be sure to check out the baby department when looking for toys, a lot of them are suitable for greys and they don't cost as much as made for bird toys do.

Welcome Valerie to our family and I must say I am really glad you decided to join us for if you are anything like your Dad we are gonna love you very much. I am especially fond of your father, with his great sense of humor, he makes me laugh and laugh. He is one of those names that I always look for when I log on to the site, oh boy Joe is on.:kiss: If we are making him happy with laughter then he is doing the same thing for us, he always has a witty answer, maybe a little slower than the rest of us because he types with only 2 fingers. But you can always count on Joe for a good time and he is always bright and cheerful to everyone. The stories you could tell us about your life with your Dad and other little secrets is what I want to hear from you. I want the dirt on Joe, we all know he can cook, he builds gyms and playstands and he is an awesome writer. I have a copy of his cookbook and I have enjoyed it immensely, especially the commentary he included with the recipes. He does have a way with words, and I have also read the starting pages of a book he is writing on his life story and I can't wait to get more, so don't hold anything back from us. If you have any questions you want to ask please just ask, we will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can. Valerie, you can ask me anything, for I feel like we know one another already, I would do anything for Joe and the same goes for you. Hello and welcome to the family, BJ, glad you could join us and looking forward to hearing more about your new members of the flock. I am so happy you could take in these 2 greys, they certainly need love and attention along with proper nutrition and I believe you will be able to provide that for them. I would put their cages in the room where you are most of the time to get them used to being around you. It will take time to gain their trust but if you are willing to work on it the rewards will be tremendous. We have many threads on various topics that you should read thru for lots of useful information to get you started and feel free to ask us any questions, we will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can. When you can get us a picture of the two greys so we can see for ourselves how they look at this point in time to be able to compare them at a later time for when they have had time to adjust and bond with you. I commend you for taking on this task, I know it will not be easy but if you set your mind to it, I think you will find you made the best decision for yourself and these two greys. They truly are amazing creatures.

In my opinion at 8 weeks of age it is too soon to try to stop the hand feeding, continue until he no longer wants it. The link Tracy provided gives a lot of good information.

You are a good Mama, Spookyhurst, doing what you have to do to make Nikko happy and that is no more than the rest of us would do for our babies. We love them and would do anything for them. What a clever idea to make covers for the perches and I love it. You go girl.

I just joined Curves for Women and I love it, the support you receive is great and I feel I get a good workout designed for a woman's body. I feel so self conscious going to a regular gym but here it is only other women who understand my plight. We rotate around in a circle with equipment and stepping stations so you are constantly moving and they tell you every so often to move to the next station. The various pieces of equipment work a different part of the body for a total workout. I come away feeling a little tired but not exhausted. I know I am going to feel better and look better so that in turn ups my self confidence. I am taking it in small steps for small successes to achieve a larger ultimate goal of pounds lost and energy gained for a healthier me. I have cut back on lots of my favorite foods, not entirely but in the quanity and making healthier choices. I have 2 of the best cheerleaders keeping me going on course and they support me 100% in what I am attempting to accomplish, I don't think I could do it without them, thanks Frank and Penny.:cheer:
