Hello Brooke and welcome to the family, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your flock. How many macaws and amazons do you have at the moment? Have you considered getting an african grey? We all love our greys and a lot of us have other birds besides the greys, I have a sun conure and some of the members have lots of other birds. You have a good look around the forum and please read thru the many threads on various topics for lots of useful information. Ask specific questions if you have any and we will do our best to answer and help you in any way we can. If you have pictures of your macaws and amazons you would like to share with us, we have an other birds room where you can post them.

Hello Gudrun and welcome to the family, glad you could join us and I know you will love it here just like we do. From the picture you included, Vaskur is a beauty and no wonder you love him so much, they are awesome creatures and he seems so loving to anyone, not a lot of us can claim that statement. So you have already read thru a lot of the threads, I am sure you found lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask specific questions as they arise, we do our best to get some answers and we will help you in any way we can. That scratching you described is normal behavior for a young grey, he may be wanting to be let out but he should cease this digging in time, nothing to worry about.

By all means cook them, I think they would prefer them that way and then just watch them get into it and have it all over the beak and then, fling and it goes all over the place:laugh:

I don't really know, Steph, but if they have been missing since he/she was hatched then I doubt they will grow back, your vet could answer your question.

My favorite is the fourth one down, thanks Heather for sharing some more excellent shots of Harrison, she poses so well for the camera!!! -
They enjoy getting out and going places with us, just do it easy and slow so as not to startle them but they are curious about new places and people.
-
ABettua, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and your grey.

Info on Missouri's bill they are trying to pass
judygram replied to Makena's topic in Off-Topic Discussions
Thanks Tari for following up on this, is kinda scarey to think about it happening!!! -
Atta-girl, you quit smoking, this will go good with the weight loss you are doing now too. I have never smoked but I do harp on people who do smoke about quitting for their health and for the health of their birds and other pets. So you have my support but I don't have any tips for you since I am a nonsmoker. I would be interested in knowing how the hypnotism works for you, hmmm.

What a wonderful story of how you came to be Teluhlasmom, glad it has a happy ending and soon she will be home with you for the rest of her life. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us.

Don't you just love these little displays of affection and that is too funny about the wienie dog licking the food out of his beak. But you did the right thing in stopping that, good for you.

I occasionally take Josey to work with me sometimes, she goes in a travel cage and remains in it while at work. Of course not too many people are in and out of my office during the day so she plays in her cage and keeps me company, sometimes I am there by myself. I also take her with me when I go visit my son, it is about a 4 hour drive and she goes in the travel cage, she rides well and plays and talks on the way. Some of the other members do take theirs to the malls, when shopping and even to parks. Maybe some of them will chime in with their outings.

Hello Jopalis and welcome to the family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this grey you inherited. Thats wonderful that you have the grey that belonged to your father and a great reminder of him when she talks in his voice. And it stands to reason she has taken to your husband since she was owned by a male before. I echo the other's suggestion that you have her checked out by an avian vet especially if it has been a while since she has been to one. She should not be falling from her perches but you never know her age may have something to do with it, but a vet will know for sure. Please read thru our many threads on various topics for lots of useful information that may be of some help to you. Don't hesitate to ask specific questions you may have, we will do our best to get an answer for you and help you in any way we can. She is a very lovely girl from the pictures you posted of her and Tobie is a cute name.
