Well now that Lucky is talking he won't shutup for sure, you have to be careful of what you wish for you just might get it. I wouldn't be surprised if lots more words come rolling out soon.
Well you have good company here with all us other bird lovers, you will fit right in.B)
About the pics try uploading your pictures into a photo hosting site like photobucket.com and then putting them on the site, works for us.
Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.
Then at the very minimum this cage would be ok especially if she spooks easy but I would allow her a lot of out of cage time so she can have some space to play and enjoy herself.
If you have any pictures of Jazz you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
Thanks so much Tracy for posting this for us, a list of all the things we should have on hand for such an emergency like what happened last night. Just as all of us have a first aid kit for humans we bird lovers need one just for our avian friends.
Thats one neat looking perch, Spence, and it took no time to make, wish you weren't so far away, I would get you to do one for me, thanks for sharing that with us. You got talent and it shows.
They usually do their words in the same voice that they hear them in, like my Josey will say words that I have said and she uses my voice which is softer than my hubby's and when she says words that my hubby has said it is lower, sounds very like coming from the first source.
It also is low key right now as he is practicing but no they don't really get louder but you will notice it more.
Congrats on hearing that first word, a special time indeed and thanks for sharing that with us.
We always have a bird fair every year where I live and I stock up on goodies for the girls and thats also where I got Josey's cage also, was a good buy.
Josey also loves her bells and she attacks them with a fierceness, grabbing the chain and giving it a good swing and she gets very vocal with it also.
I know, I know one pound is 2 glasses of water but I can't wait to get over this cold so I can get back to my regular routine for I got a goal to reach and this ain't doing it:(
He just doesn't understand why the changes have been made and he is reacting to that, you know how greys hate any kind of change but in time I think he will get better. He just needs more time to feel comfortable again, that episode really shook him up but if you keep up pretty much the regular routine I think he will adjust much faster.
Caroline, is this the one that lost his wing feathers on one side due to the earthquake? If so did the biting start about that same time? If so then maybe he could be reacting to not being able to do what he used to and he sees you as restricting him in his activities.
Just treat him the same so he knows your love is constant and maybe when the feathers grow out he will be more like his usual self. I know this can be very hard to deal with but I think it will pass in time.
I talked to my daughter and she was telling me she hoped I was feeling better and she loved me.
Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
You noticed that too huh, she was on the IM last night and one of the members helped her put it on craigslist, she said it was her daughter's bird and her daughter had been hit by a vehicle and was unable to care for it. You just never know, the scammers are out there in full force.
