  1. Hello Sentra and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new baby grey. The others have given you some excellent advice on how to introduce your grey with the goffin cockatoo so I won't repeat it here. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
  2. Thanks Penny for the rooms, I understand we have a rescue room also, good job in getting these for us.
  3. That is excellent information Dave, thanks for sharing it with us:)
  4. Desiree, I am sorry to hear of your frustration in getting a grey but you will have one someday soon if it was meant to be. You seem like you have a lot of love to give and you are willing to make the sacrifices necessary for keeping a grey happy and healthy. It will happen for you, just keep your chin up and have a positive attitude. The others have given you some excellent ideas for where to look for a grey or similar bird so the more places you look the greater chance of success. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you will find one soon for it would be the luckiest one alive. And thanks to you for your sacrifice to our country, our veterans and especially our disabled veterans get my undying gratitude.
  5. You got a smarty pants, a quick learner, thanks for sharing that with us.B)
  6. I have the adventure pack also and love it but this one that Dan has is nice too, thanks for sharing that one with us Dan. :cheer:
  7. You thought right Bryan, it is so cute;)
  8. I am not going to say good looking or handsome, everyone else has:laugh: you have a gorgeous grey, Brodie is hamming it up for the camera, thanks for sharing him with us, like the nickname you are calling him, Brodieo. B)
  9. We don't have silly questions here, only silly answers:laugh: no, just kidding.:woohoo:  Its good to give it both ways, some will eat one thing cooked and others raw so try all options to see what they prefer.
  10. Good luck Dan, you are gonna need it.
  11. This is such sad news and I am so sorry for your loss, you have my condolences and I cannot imagine how you must feel but do not blame yourself, it was nothing you could have prevented. Know that your Caesar has went over the Rainbow Bridge and you will meet up with him once again some day but until then you are in my thoughts and prayers that your heartache is eased somewhat.
  12. I hope you get that appointment soon ifyour grey is sick, birds deteriorate rapidly when they get ill so time is of the essence. Be sure to let us know what you find out.
  13. Josey does not care much for nuts either and she won't touch sunflower seeds but let her see a package of shredded cheddar cheese and she would turn herself inside out for a sliver of that:blink: :side: :cheer:
  14. Actually the one with the grey peeking thru the funnies is Nikko, who belongs to Spookyhurst, she won one of the photo contests with that pic and they put it on the front page. The other pictures, besides the one of Harrison, were here when I joined in May 2007, they may have been here since the forum was started.
  15. That is cute of Alex and he does seem to like it on the end of the jack, thanks for sharing that with us Suzanne.
  16. I think so, you may have to do a search to find a supplier but in my opinion pellets should not have an overbearing smell.
  17. quote"""So are you saying that it's a reasonably safe assumption that the presence of any feathers at all - even if they are currently chewed or resemble down - indicates that he hasn't done any permanent damage?""" Yes, if the skin is damaged there would be just bare skin, you know like oven ready:ohmy:  :pinch: Oh boy, more pictures of Goose:cheer:
  18. It could be a year before all the wing feathers molt out, they don't lose all of them at the same time, just a few then some more and so on. I would find another avian vet also, I wouldn't feel comfortable having my grey put under anesthetic just for a wing clip.
  19. No he isn't, we have had bigger pictures before but for the best viewing they should be smaller.
  20. You will get the hang of it soon:cheer:
  21. I'd have to ask what brand you are using? I use Harrisons and I do not notice any off smell,in fact there is hardly any smell at all.
  22. Yeah, she did it, that is a lovely picture of Charlie, he is a handsome fella, thanks for sharing him with us. Now you can post lots more now that you know how:laugh:
  23. Hello BJM and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Goose. How old is he now, you said you got him at age 3 months but how long ago was that? His feathers will come back in normal unless he has damaged the skin, some pluckers will mutiliate themselves and feathers won't grow back in those areas. We are no substitute for an avian vet but we can help you with a lot of issues and we will suggest seeing your vet if we come across anything we don't feel comfortable answering. We do have some very knowledgeable members who have had their greys for many years. Please take some time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We would love to see some pictures of Goose and if you want to share some with us of the damage he has done we will take a look and see what we think.
  24. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families who lost loved ones and for all those involved in the aftermath of that horrendeous disaster. For me the day is also a day of celebration for my youngest granddaughter is 2 years old today so the day is not all a sad one.
