Sorry you are not feeling well but that is one bright note that Adaya said the magic words, great looking picture too, thanks for sharing that with us.
Wow a grey that speaks german, well duh:whistle:
I wouldn't worry too much about the beaking right now, he is testing you out to see if you are afraid of him, later when he settles in and gets comfortable then you can work on the biting if he is still doing it.
So you are taking in a male eclectus that plucks, this will be a challenge but it will be worth it to see his beautiful plumage again, good luck with him Janet.
Thats great news Dawn and I hope the rest of the tests come back with good results too, Clyde is doing so well and you are right to take him out on other outings so he can associate the travel cage with good things and not just as a carrier to the vet.
I would seriously consider leaving his flight feathers intact, most of us here believe in flighted birds, at least give it some thought.
I like that idea Dave, it might not get rid of them at the moment but give them a few days and they die. The cinnamon would be nice to use but it would only serve as a deterrent and not kill them, thank you so much.
Well they are all individuals so this one may do things differently from your other grey, give her some time to settle in and feel comfortable but if she allows you to handle her then that is great.
I got my sprouter from Phoenix Landing and it seems to me it was maybe $15, maybe less but it was very reasonable, of course it came with no seeds, just the sprouter itself.
Carol I guess I just didn't poke around enough:whistle:
Allow Niko to come out and spend time outside the cage when you are at home but when you leave or at night while you are in bed close Niko in the cage.
Leave the cage uncovered if that is the way it has always been for her.
Do you know what to feed Niko? Please look thru the bird food room for threads that give the foods you should be giving her for proper nutrition.
Thats great that you could take in this bird in need of a good home but what kind of bird did you have before and when you say you lost it do you mean it died or it flew away?
Thanks Tina for posting that pic, it was not provided on the site I went to from the link Carol posted, thats probably a good price considering what all you get in the kit.
Yep those will work nicely also, I am looking forward to strawberry season as we have a new patch of them my hubby planted last year, I am so ready for some that are not hard as a rock with no flavor. Probably later this month I will be in strawberry shortcake, strawberry pie, strawberry ice cream, yummy, darn now I have made myself hungry.
You did the right thing in moving him and explaining what you were doing, they understand more than we give them credit for, I am sure Sydney will forgive you sooner and not later. :side:
