  1. I am always interested in pictures and I love cats as do many others here so share some pics of them when you get them, I just bet they are so adorable, I love little kittens.
  2. Darn, you beat me to it, Happy Birthday Penny, I won't say how old you are, that will be our little secret, hope you have a wonderful day today, I know you have a big smile on your face:whistle: :cheer:
  3. LOUD AND CLEAR {Feel-good-0002006E}
  4. Thanks so much for updating us on Sabian, glad to hear she is doing good and maybe with a little time she will have her tail back again. I think you found that if you can keep her busy and occupied it will help to keep her focus off her feathers. Don't stay away so long and come back and keep us posted on how she is doing, ok.
  5. {Emotions-00020070}
  6. Imprint? Did you google it?
  7. It was a "poopular" idea and we have had some great stories too.
  8. Whew, I know you are glad it was vegetable dye and not blood but I would have done the same thing. Why cover the grey, I let mine go natural, pretty soon it will be white and thats what I want.
  9. This helps so much to get to know you and your two birds, a little background is great to know. So with two greys you each have one that is a favorite and that works out great but I am surprised they share the same cage. Actually they probably should have separate cages but side by side so they can still be close to one another because they do tend to be possessive of their own space and it would probably be best when left alone when you go out so that one doesn't hurt the other with no one to break it up, it only takes a second. I guess if you don't really care whether they are male or female it doesn't matter but if one or both are female then you just might find out one day.:huh: Thanks for sharing some info with us.
  10. That sounds about right, heard that before, don't they know you are waiting on pins and needles here, might have to bug them some more and then maybe you will get the results so they can get rid of your calls about it. Try it, never know it might work.:pinch: :whistle: :cheer:
  11. She sure is getting prettier by the day, I can't wait to see how she will look when fully feathered and all grown up. Poor dear, she is still a little scared but she will get over that in time, I can't wait to see how her personality comes out for I have considered getting one if I do ever get another bird. I wouldn't worry too much at this point about her eating her pellets, she is just not ready to give up her formula yet but she will when she is good and ready. Thanks for sharing another pic with us and I look forward to seeing more and hearing more about Mango.
  12. Have you read this thread, this is the best way to add photos to your posts: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-photography-room/89533-how-to-post-picturesphoto-tuturial.html
  13. You are still a young one at 45, you are in your prime, think of it that way.
  14. Josey gives me signals that she is ready to take a dump and I can take her where I want her to go, she starts to squat and shake her booty end so I can usually prevent her from going on me or whatever. Yours might be giving you signals too you just have to watch for them.
  15. Great link Carol, there are lots of recipes and it will take me a while to go thru all of them and it also has a list of toxic foods and plants, thanks so much for sharing this with us, karma for you.
  16. I have to agree with you on the name, Clyde is not a name I would have picked but you can pick a new one later. I can imagine you will start hearing more and more words out of him as he settles in and comes to trust you but it just takes time, time and patience are two ofour favorite words. Pat is right, he doesn't have to have one on one time with you every minute he is out of his cage, he just wants to be where you are, in the room where you are, he just wants to be with the rest of the flock. You did good on the bite, continue with that and it may happen less and less, he is testing you and you need to pass with flying colors. Keep up the good work Dawn, you are doing greyt.
  17. I've never heard of a laser treatment to help you stop smoking, how in the devil does it work?:huh: You were young and stupid and as so many kids are you wanted to be cool and fit in with your friends, well guess what, it isn't so cool anymore is it?:whistle: Enough ranting, you know your mistake now but the trouble is trying to stop, I hope you can find a way to stop, you are a young man and the effects of smoking can easily be reversed if you can just quit, I wish you much luck.
  18. They do generally pick one person as a favorite but usually the other members of the household can still have a good relationship with the bird if they don't take it personally. Since he has only been with you a short time and is an older bird give him lots more time to feel really comfortable in his new home. A lot of greys do feel a little possessive of their cage, that is their safe place and they don't like us sticking our hands inside their zone so respect that and allow him to come out of his cage before asking to step up on your hand. I hope you are feeding him more than just seeds, he should be getting vegetables, some fruits, nuts, grains, legumes and other more nutritious foods rather than just a seed diet. Be sure to look around the bird food room for lots of ideas and lists. You can give your grey a little cheddar cheese, maybe a total of a half inch cube over a weeks time, most of them love it, my Josey goes nuts over it, you can also give a tiny bit of yogurt occasionally, without added sugar of course. If you feed a balanced diet there is no need to supplement with vitamins as they get all they need from their food. Thanks for the update on Mekki and check in more often so we can keep up with how he is doing and pictures are always welcomed.
  19. I wouldn't worry too much about it as he is only 14 weeks old, maybe he feels he needs it a little longer but he sounds like he is going to be a big boy at 509 grams and climbing. Glad to hear you have a good eater.
  20. Hello Nick and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Partner. That is an unusual name for a grey, I am assuming he already had that name or you picked it because he said "Good bird partner" to you. Cute. He does look healthy enough but a vet visit is wise to make sure he is in fine shape and from the looks of things you two are off to a greyt start. My suggestion is to add maybe another toy and rotate them out every couple of weeks to keep him from getting bored. If he loves to tear up things then get those kinds of toys and we do have a homemade toys and playstands room where you will find lots of ideas for inexpensive or even free toys to provide entertainment for you partner and foraging type toys are always a big winner. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks for providing some pictures in your opening post as we usually have to ask for them, you catch on quick.
  21. Thats cute but how did you get them to hang on at that angle:laugh: :blink: thanks for sharing that with us.
  22. Hello Armywife and welcome to our family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Scarlett. You must be handfeeding your grey if it is only a 7 week old baby so I assume you have experience with it. Do you have any other parrots or birds in your household? You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love to see pictures of the greys here so if you have some of Scarlett you would share with us we would really appreciate it.
  23. I wonder what they will say has teflon in it next, is nothing safe anymore:ohmy: well thanks Dave for letting me know I can continue to have my morning jolt with no birds being harmed, what would we do without you:P
  24. Is your dad going to be doing the handfeeding?
