You have made a wise choice, free flying is best left to those who know what they are doing and we only have a few members here who actually do that but they are skilled in the art, for anyone else it is a sure way to disaster.

Yes the honeymoon is definitely over and her true personality is beginning to come out and Dan is right on the money and has given you some excellent advice. Take it easier on her from now on, you will not force her to do anything as it has to be her idea and chasing her will only make her bite you harder when you finally "get" her. It will take lots of time and patience on your part but the rewards will be well worth it in the end.

Thanks so much Dan for providing this information for us, I knew it was very warm and humid in their natural habitat but not to the extent that it really exists.

That Cocoa is a stinker there on her head, she has lots of patience to allow Cocoa to sit there and vocalize but I loved the meow calls. On the last one it looked like Cocoa was a little unsettled being in the same cage with Mocha but he was too busy preening to notice. Thanks Sanggay for sharing the videos with us.

I have thought about those sound machines for myself to block out annoying noises that might keep me awake but never thought about using it to induce my birds to bathe, I do know running the vacuum does the trick for Sunny but not Josey. Thanks Marguerite for the tip.

Oh yes Jules, thay can cope occasionally with a little of alone time and may do them some good to not have you there all the time. I know you felt guilty and that is normal especially for women, we are notorious worriers but you left them with plenty of food, toys to amuse themselves and some background noise so pat yourself on the back and now you know you can do it again sometime.

Hello Eternalnewb and welcome to our family and congrats on getting a new to you grey, its great that you could give Yuki a good home. I would continue to use the same cage for her when you get her home as it will make the transition to your home easier for her, you can leave the new cage nearby so she can get used to it being around and move her into it at a later date. Do read thru the many threads here for lots of useful information and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We do love pictures here so if you have some of Yuki you would share with us we would love to see them.

Adelt, you must do what you have to for your grey and if that means traveling some distance to get him the help he needs then you must do it, your grey's life depends on it. If you aren't a vet then do not self treat your bird as you could do more harm than good. You need to consult an avian vet now ASAP for birds hide illnesses until they no longer can, time is of the essence and I hope your grey is going to be ok, please let us know what you find out. I will keep your grey in my thoughts and prayers.

Americans make "New Year's Resolutions" also and one of the most popular ones is the one to loose that extra weight but like most of them they start off with full steam and then sort of fade as the weeks and months go by. Jill you must drink fairly regularly if you resolve to not drink alcohol for the whole month of January, if thats what you want then I hope you succeed.
