OMG Penny that was a close call, glad to hear that Rikki is ok, she could have been badly burned.
Sunny does stay on my shoulder when I cook and sometimes Josey is nearby on a playstand but she cannot fly so I never have a problem with her but if and when she does gain her flying ability I will have to cage her when cooking.
Shame on Bernie, he didn't say it was a contest but congratulations Marguerite for you do (or should I say did) have a lovely Christmas tree, I especially love the purple touches, my favorite color.
Hello Toria and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Tweak.
What a cute name for a sweet grey, I love it.
Please do read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
Is this your first grey, first parrot? Do you have any other pets in your home?
I assume that is Tweak in your avatar and please share more of him if you like for we love to look at pictures here.

Only an avian vet can make that assumption, if his beak needs trimming then he will do that, never attempt to do that yourself as they have a blood supply in their beak. He might just need some concrete perches to rub his beak on, most do this and it keeps the beak in good shape.
Its too bad you live in the UK for someone here in the US has two grey babies just weaned for sale, a member of this forum but I wish you luck, hopefully the info that Lyn gave you will be fruitful.
Sorry to hear of your daughter's loss of her grey and that was generous of you to give her yours.
Since you mention that he is a bit clumsy Christina has Marvin been to see an avian vet in the last year? It might not be a bad idea to have him checked out to be sure he is healthy for it seems he may have had an old injury causing some of his troubles (clumsiness).
Beautiful babies, you should have no trouble finding them good homes and we watched them grow.
Will you have the webcam on the new ones getting ready to hatch?
What a great shot Lyn of your two buddies and a very festive looking picture for the holiday season, thanks so much for bringing this thread back to the front, hopefully some others will share some more pictures of their pets.
Oh Jill, quit your belly aching, its getting kind of old now.
Spock looks great Maggie and he tells quite a tale, I love those stories of his and I like the way he has his left foot talons sticking out in that second pic, thanks for sharing these with us.
I agree Jill, frozen vegetables can be just as nutritious or more so than fresh because they are flash frozen right after coming from the field and retain a lot more of their vitamins and nutrients.
I do tend to feed carrots and leafy greens fresh as frozen versions just do not cut it in my house.
Yes Christina it is a long story but to be of help to you we need as much information as possible so thanks for giving us the facts. You do seem to have quite a dilema with Marvin but yes it would be of great help if you can find out more about his past and how he was treated.
Six months seems like a long time but not long enough for Marvin to come to trust you, I am afraid it will take longer since he has mistrust issues.
I am afraid I have no advice for you as this is beyond my scope of experience but I know someone who does and I am sure he will be along soon with some helpful advice and suggestions for you to help with your situation with Marvin.
Hello Christina and welcome to our family, I think you are going to like it here as we have many knowledgeable members who have been thru similar situations with greys and may be able to help you with yours.
I read your other thread and you do have a perplexing problem and if you knew more about Marvin's past it would help but he sure needs a forever home to build the trust that he needs to be a good pet and companion.
Dan has given you some excellent advice and we have another member who might be able to give you some more as he has gone thru similar experiences and that is Dave007. I will pm him so he can read your thread and respond.
Please feel free to share some pictures of your fids if you like, we have an other birds room where you can put ones of the cockatoo and quaker.
Cocoa sure is a swinger, you manage to capture some exciting footage of Cocoa enjoying being a grey and hanging around, thanks for sharing them with us.
Talon is the older and wiser of the bunch but thats so funny how Nilah and Rikki say it differently after hearing it the same, never a dull moment, right!
Thats great that she loves to ride, its too bad she gets car sick when doing so but she doesn't let it spoil her fun, she is so adorable Maggie, thanks for sharing a couple more pics of her.
My advice is find those crayons so he doesn't chew "eat" any more of them, it is your job to make your home safe for your fid. Let us know Michelle if he shows any sign of distress, maybe a call into the vet would be reassuring, I know it would for me.
JR, you should check out more of Carolz7's threads in this room, she has a very nice bird room and has outfitted it with homemade toys, she is very creative.
How interesting Dan for it seems falcons would be directly related to hawks and eagles for they are all predators of live animals.
Thanks for sharing that information with us Dan.
Good luck JR but just because you can take the pain of a bite doesn't mean you should push her to do things she doesn't want to do, you want to gain her trust and you will not do that with force, you have to earn it.
