Water and a plastic bristle scrub brush for me. The powder coat paint is almost like a non stick surface. I rinse, scrub, rinse scrub, till it's all off, then paper towel dry.<br><br>Post edited by: TheGreyMiester, at: 2007/06/28 04:12

I only wish my kids never lost the charger to my 5 megapixle digital camera. I'm going to have to use my phones camera. It's only 1.3 mega pixles but it is not to bad, just a little blurry. My wife always gets on me about putting things on top of the refrigerator, but had I put the charger there, it would still be there! I have basically gutted the house and I can't find it.

One more day to go, Friday, and I get to bring home My TAG. The time is starting to crawl...

Hello All, Some of you know me from way back, well not that long ago... I've been away for a while but now I'm back. All along, I have been making my weekly visits with my breeder who only lives an hour away from my home. I have been able to watch Oliver grow from a baby with pinned feathers to almost 6 months old. We were hoping that he would wean around 4 months old but he was just not ready. Well he has been off of formula for 16 days now and this Saturday I go to get him and bring him home. FINALLY! I have never had to wait this long for a pet ever! but it will be worth it. I plan to have pictures, but they will be a little low in quality because my 5 mega pixel camera no longer has a charger, compliments of my kids. Anyway, I will have some photos perhaps Sunday night.

I bring my TAG home This Saturday (6-23-07) and he will be almost 6 months old. It ok him longer to wean than the breeder and I expected, but that’s ok. As for playfulness and jumpiness, the grey’s are young and need time to mature and get used to the new home. I guess its kind of like us starting school in a different state. It takes time to adjust.

It can take a Grey up to 1 to 2 years to start talking but it depends on the bird realy. Also I would not worry about him picking up words.Your bird has 30 to 50 years to build a vocabulary, so don't worry about that. I would just enjoy him as a companion parrot and everything else will be automattic.

My breeder clipped only one wing and I made her clip the other one. She warned me that there is still the risk that my TAG can still fly away if he catch a draft of wind but there are two factors to consider. 1. a gust of wind is not constant unless there is some kind of wind storm, and if there is a storm, its likely you are not going to go out side anyway. 2. With clipped wings, the bird is not able to fly efficiently, therefore will not get very far if it does escape, unless the wings are clipped improperly, i.e. - not enough of the primary flight feathers cut. I would try to hold off on clipping until the bird is at least 2 years old if it's not to late. Much of the psychological development is tied in with learning to fly. I personally had my bird clipped, but I now regret doing this. Next molt, my TAG will remain unclipped. The most important thing to remember when trying to train your grey from not biting is to never yell. Yelling is "loudness" but you do need to say in a low firm voice "NO". Best way to describe this is how we might yell at our kids in public discretely. You use a firm voice but you are not "yelling" at them.

Banding is the best solution.

3 to 4 hours interaction a day is fine. My breeder warned not to give it more attention than you can provide, in other words, you don't want to give it 6 hours attention and then drop to 3 hours, your bird will, not understand.
