Can't wait to see them

However, that's really a wonderful story with Gracie too! You are as lucky to have such a bird. Btw, I've just read another post on Gracie's vocal abilities, simply amazing and funny at the same time (the story on scoring tests ... and Gracie coming in ) So far Cockey can't speak, he just mimics some sounds and whistles he came with, but has aquired nothing new, though I do hope he will

The Bird Did It: Share Real Stories, Lay People Won't Believe

After shredding some paper with a few important notes on it, here's my Cockey feasting on a tasty pencil he found on the computer desk. -
Thanks, but I first met him sharing an outdoor aviary with two young CAG's, a blue-fronted amazon and a pair of parakeets who were chasing all the 4, because they were nesting at the time But he let me give him a head scritch and won my heart instantly
-
Remember Cockey's been only 8 days with me now, since he arrived last Thursday night, but we almost share moments like these ... Would be nice to see your birds in similar situations ...
-
From now on, my bird will have a free (flight) access to lettuce, but that's not the case with cabbage
-
Thanks, good to know it's not harmful, so the bird can play with it at least
-
A friend of mine, a long term owner of a grey, told me that lettuce is not good for the bird, but mine enjoys eating it and, as you can see, when I come with it to feed my other birds, he simply flies in and grabs a leaf for himself. Should I let him eat it? I was also told that cabbage is not to be given either, true?
-
I was just kidding about making it on my own On the other hand, I'm grateful for a kind advice where to get it "in this area", however there is a "small" problem ... we live thousands of miles apart ... if not noticed my domicile address is Belgrade, Serbia I do think my bird will accept spray bathing, but I'm also going to offer him a bowl or something of the kind, for himself to try. There is no better and more enjoyable sight than to see your bird having a plunge on its own

I think he just needs time to get used to it, and I'll look at the Pet Centre for the aloe vera juice, or should I take my plant and make it myself
-
I sprayed my bird today and am in two minds about that, wheather Cockey liked it or not ... since he showed both signs of satisfaction and aggression at the same time. He was on his stand, feathers fluffed, but tried to reach the nozzle of the sprayer and even flew onto my hand and shoulder several times, but not biting, just producing some sounds of protest ...
-
All's well that ends well
-
Hah, both of you are incorrect; obviously she's just about to do her regular dusting
-
It's similar situation with my cats, though Cockey doesn't pay much attention to them either. At first he was rather startled, his feathers fluffed, even growling and hissing a bit, but that lasted for a day only and, as you can see now, he's rather comfortable with them

Here is my little boy a bit wary of the kitty close by But need not to panic, he's quite capable of managing the situation and the cat has alredy seen his powerful beak in action. Also need not to say they are never left on their own in tne room.

Thanks for the tips! Though it seems that he has solved the feet issue himself Btw, while still with the breeder, he was in an outdoor aviary and as far as I know, the birds bred in Serbia (continental climate, if there still is such a thing, with harsh winters) are kept outdoors with their winter sheds of course. I also have two pairs of gouldian finches which supposedly need to have high temperature levels in the winter, but I got them from a breeder who kept them in an unheated shed during winter.
-
Thanks Judygram, Yes he seems to be settling in nicely and has already been a bit stubborn in the way he doesn't like to be put back into his cage, and prefers having me in sight all the time ... Brat Birds, you made me lough reading your "hormonal description" of your conure Yes, they are little rascals, but you can't help loving them.
-
Jovan, Have you noticed that I pm-ed you?

While I was thinking of getting my first grey, I thought of the name Cockey, and beleive me or not, when the bird arrived and the previous owner asked what they'd called the bird, the answer was Koki, Serbian for Cockey! So there must have been something premeditated
-
Wow! He was only 4 weeks old! What a rewarding experience to watch him grow and bond with his "daddy"
