Thanks everyone! We’re super excited to get this guy home. He was just taken out of the brooder box and placed in a cage this week. So he’ll start learning how to perch. I’ve got the cage set up with various hard perches and rope perches as well as a heavy duty bird bell. Toys are enroute in the mail. The breeder has been breeding birds for 60+ years and says it’s a male so I’ll take his word for it, but just in case he’s wrong I’m going with a gender neutral name of Tiki. My kids love Disney so he’s named after the Tiki Room animatronic bird show.

I would like to be strong. Not so strong that I smell bad. Just strong. Than I could take care of eliminating all the parrot poachers on the face of the Earth.

What a lovely name! I'm so excited for you! Please keep us updated when you get baby Tiki home. And feel free to ask any questions- the forums contains LOADS of useful information already but there's always people willing to help where they can. Do you know roughly how long you've got to wait until you bring your baby home? I would recommend putting the perches quite low in the cage at the start and maybe lining the bottom with something soft like some old towels or linen to begin with. They can be a bit wobbly when they're that young and may sometimes topple off a perch. Once Tiki starts getting more confident in his cage and with perchng securely you can then start to offer some higher places to perch.

Flight would be my normal go to but as a backup option I think I'd like to be able to breathe underwater and swim well, just so I can see what's hidden beneath the depths!

Ability to read minds would be cool (human and animal). But these days the ability to cure Covid-19 would really be a superpower! Not sure how many could be healed in just 24 hours though.
