  1. I have tried wrapping treats in paper but Alfie prefers to fling them around rather than grab them and tear them apart. Even if I show him the treat and wrap it in front of him he will still fling it as far as he can! I found some great little boxes recently which are perfect for foraging. I fill the smaller box with treats and paper, put it in the larger box and top it with treats and paper and Alfie has loads of fun shredding the box and finding some tasty treats. I have a small stockpile of the boxes at the moment as they are the perfect size to fit on his shelf and the fact there is a box within a box gives him an extra challenge too. (plus it makes more mess for me to clear up!)

  2. My view is that folks do come here and read just not posting. I haven't had much to say it has been a very hectic time for our family. I will make an effort to participate more often there are enough birds here to have material to share. This is a great resource and our Greys only benefit from what we can learn from each other. Thank you ILeo for all you have done.

  3. I have hidden things inside plain coffee filters inside a cardboard box but I let them watch me wrap the treats so they understand the presentation of something into their cage. Have also gotten sterile sand and hidden almonds in the shell so they have to dig.

  4. Unfiltered Sunlight will help as will misting her with pure aloe vera juice (not the gel). Use brightly colored veggies and fruits to gain the most nutrition. Thank you for giving this bird a chance at a good life. You should be able to google to find an avian Veterinarian who is closest to you.

  5. I'll still choose Avian Avenue over the Parrot Forum. And you're right about the FB forums. Many people are cocked and loaded to ream out others over there. Still searching for the best FB ones worthy of my time. I do participate in the FB grey group that you, SRSeedBurners, are also a participant.

  6. I check the forum multiple times daily - almost always nothing new. Have tried to drag a few people here that, like me, get tired of the Facebook drama in those groups with tens-of-thousands 'members'. I've never successfully gotten anyone to come here. Facebook has managed to kill off a lot of forums. They can't kill off things like Maxima.org because the knowledge base is too huge and FB can't compete with the search-ability to find content that people rely on to diagnose and fix their vehicle. Another of my favorites, Caique site, went under a few years ago. The Caique FB groups are nothing compared to what was buried in the forum. AvianAvenue is still going strong but I get tired of the mamby-pamby over there so don't go much. Would hate to see this place go but there's also not much going on here either.
