  2. Who are we? We'll we're members of the Grey Forms. Why are we here? We'll we're here to learn, share, have questions of concerns answered (hopefully answered). Why else? Ah, to teach, to pass on knowledge and things we learned, to comfort our member friends and share photos and life.. Every member has knowledge to pass on and experiences to share.. There are some members who have so much to offer, yet we never hear from them, it's sad, they have so much to offer. I see hours, sometimes days go by before a question might be answered..I don't want to be a "lookie-loo" or the few "contributors". Take a minute to say "Hi" even if you don't have a answer..Your combined knowledge could power the world..All you older members, I could post wonderful and helpful posts you've made, why not instead give a couple minutes of your time to pass on your help to others? Remember when you first joined the Forum? and some one reached out to help you....you're ALL needed. Okay, my soapbox just broke...Rev. Jayd

  3. Yeah no doubt Alfie will find his way up there too. I'll probably position food/water up there so it's easy for him to get too. We deliberately bought the wood with the bark on the edges so he has something to destroy too, so again it's multipurpose for Alfie and the cats.

  4. To teach, support and encourage, to share the good and the bad, to listen, be happy and cry with and for our extended family. A feather brought us together, and it was a red one at that.

  5. A better update: A busted sewer, two corroded main valves from years of sitting in water and an electrical conduit that was pulled out of the wall and compromised, all due to a foundation lift we had done 10-15 years ago. Multiple plumbing companies were quoting me $4-$5K to fix this mess - to hell with that, I did it my damn self. I can't believe how much these idiots get paid to sweat pipe and put rubber collars on. I should be a plumber/electrician and make some bank. My neighbor ran a plumbing business and these days it's as if he is printing money in his garage. A pic of the repairs, plus I added a new 'garden valve' so I can have water inside GreycieMae's section of the unit. - repaird sewer line - brand new electrical conduit, wall unit and re-wired - new main valve - repaired water line that goes to our barn A couple of pics of the area after I finished the repairs, completed the dig-out of the clay and hauled in the three remaining loads of crushed granite. It all had to come in through a window, into a wheel barrow and hauled into place. You can see the 2K lumen area lights I installed in the second pic. I put three in GreycieMae's section, one in the Middle's (Toby & Rio's area) and one in the Little's section (Tinkerbell & Stevie). And when the work is done, there's always time to stop and smell the roses. GreycieMae has two rose bushes growing in her aviary.

  6. Looks great. I know you put the platforms out there for the cats but my GreycieMae would be all over those!

  8. OMG, thank God your fids are okay! I'm so sorry to hear Sterling Gris plucked after this frightening experience. I, too, believe he'll come around in time. Greys take such a long time to get over things that caused them to become stressed.

  10. Looks fantastic! It is great that you were able to do the repairs yourself too. My husband and I do the same if it's within our capability. That one would have been more than we could handle, at our current age.

  12. Both cats went out in the aviary for a few minutes when I got home from work as it was sunny and warm enough for them. Unfortunately it started to rain soon after so I had to bring them back inside again as they didn't appreciate getting wet and I didn't want to rock the boat too much as they were obviously a little on edge. Although they are getting along fine in the house now they were a bit creeped out by being in there together and didn't get much chance to settle before I had to bring them back inside. Wish the weather would make it's mind up! It's been sunny all day but as soon as I got them out there a big grey cloud formed and it keeps raining on and off. It's a bit too cold to let Alfie out at the moment but the weather forecast looks good for this weekend. Fingers crossed that I can finally get him out there to see what he thinks! I missed a golden opportunity last week because I was ill when we had some really warm weather so I hope I get the chance to let him try it out this weekend.

  16. Really sorry to hear about this. Thank goodness everyone came out of it ok. A house fire is one of my worst nightmares so I can only imagine what you must have been through. I hope Sterling Gris comes round in his own time. It was one heck of an ordeal so it's no surprise that it has rocked the boat and caused some distress. Hopefully he will get back to his old self eventually though.

  18. Yes it's going to be multi-use for the cats and Alfie... but not to share at the same time for obvious reasons! Alfie has a box full of toys, perches and swings out there so when he is able to go outside I can hang them all up and make it fun for him. I can then pack these away when the cats go out there. They will have the two shelves and the box to climb on. I'm also on the lookout for some trees/branches I can use for them to climb on and destroy. My cats are indoor cats so it allows them to enjoy the outdoors in a safe way. I wouldn't trust them to go outside and roam because there are a lot of neighbourhood cats they could start a fight with and I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if they got injured or worse, as they have never been outside on their own before. So the enclosure should give them enough space to climb, play and lounge around and enjoy some sunshine. Similarly, Alfie doesn't go outside unless in a carrier, so this will give him the opportunity to enjoy some space to fly around and play outside in the sunshine... when we get some more!!
