Bud the timneh for adoption

I came across this information... thanks to another parrot owner. This sanctuary is located in Wisconsin if anyone is interested. Bud's information is on this link. It would be great if he could find a forever home.

That brings tears to my eyes. Going away on holiday, never coming back and just abandoning the bird? That makes me want to say a lot of bad words!

I haven't been away on holiday for many years, simply because I don't want to leave my babies! And it's a small sacrifice I gladly make.

If I lived in the States, I'd gladly drive across the country to get little Bud and give him a home.

I just went in and read Buds story - but then went to the adoption story page - WOW - These people seem to really care about who gets these birds. I read some great stories on birds who have found great homes. I'll bet they will find a wonderful home for Bud soon.

I live about 50 - 60 miles from this rescue and I have an open cage. I have never been to this rescue, but have always been leary on going there because of a website I found one day while looking for a rescue bird to put into my spare cage.

That is one scary link you provided. I find it sad they can continue to remain open if they are conducting their rescue in that way.

Yes, I agree, I know you cannot trust many things you read on the internet, but that looks like it was former volunteers that saw it first hand. I would hate to further promote that establishment if they truely operate that way. But, knowing the things to look for before going may make it harder for them to give me a line of "BS", if it is even true.

Well this one seems legitimate. Unfortunately the parrot owner shared Bud's link...had no other choice but to bring her pionus parrot there for adoption. Apparently... she investigated and it seemed ok.
