vgladden40 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I know this varies from state to state but does anyone know if I have to pay state sales tax for my cag born and raised in md and sold online to me in ms?
Luvparrots Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I only know about Oregon and Washington. Washington has a sales tax and Oregon doesn't. If Oregonians can prove by proper ID, i.e., driver's license, that they do not reside in Washington, they are exempt from our sales tax. I suppose it goes for any other state that doesn't pay sales tax also. I mean in Washington state that is.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/03/06 04:59
vgladden40 Posted March 6, 2009 Author Posted March 6, 2009 Thanks so much. Its very confusing--so much so that the breeder isn't sure she should have charged me $72 in sales tax or not for an out of state online transaction. Ugh. What I have been able to gather from the confusing mess of info I have been able to find that because the breeder doesn't have a physical business in mississippi she isn't supposed to charge me tax--of course that doesn't mean I am right. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!!!
bandits_mom08 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I know that if you are from Oregon and you come into California even with a valid I.D. they still make you pay taxes. Leave it to CA!!
