Twosteph
Well, my bird comes home Saturday. (Finally!!!) I bought her a very nice cage from the bird show here in Orlando Sunday. The same bird cage from the petstore, just 900.00 cheaper, ha. Well, my question is, how safe would buying bird toys from ebay be? Seems prices are very cheap, and I can just run the little foot toys through the dishwasher if they've been opened, i'm not worried about those. I'm wondering if any of you would actually buy the large bird toys? I wouldn't. Who knows where their bird went for them to sell a toy? What if their bird had died, and now you're taking their virus infected toys? Do people actually buy those toys? Oh, and name ideas anyone? No girl names prepared. judygram
Congrats Steph on getting a good deal on a cage and you usually can at those bird shows and your baby is coming home Saturday, I know you are getting so anxious. I have never bought any toys off ebay, I have always bought new toys that have never been used by another parrot, I think I would be a little leary too especially if it had parts that you could very well wash or sterlize. You know you can get some great toys in the baby section of stores, a lot of them are suitable for greys and much cheaper. I look forward to hearing more about the homecoming of your new baby and seeing some pictures of course.
Twosteph
Thats exactly what I mean Judy. Like, I don't understand anyone who fears its birds health would not buy from ebay. And, atm, this is the one fear I have. Keeping the baby healthy. I got "Parrots for Dummies" a couple weeks ago, and it only names EVERY single hazard that can happen. How to bird proof your house even included changing the floor color. I couldn't be anymore nervous, atm.

Toni
I bought lots of toys off ebay for my fids.Ebay is like my Walmart since I cant go to Walmart often. Their safe, durable and cheap.Just make sure to read fine print and ask them questions if you have too. Most of the woods I do ask if the dye is bird safe.Like what type it is.Majority is the bird safe dye.
