LilosMom
My dream play gym for lilo is a Manzanita tree stand/play gym! kind of looks like this "http://spoiledbirdtoys.net/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=19_21&products_id=678". Hubby promised me one once we move to a bigger house(within a year or 2) Right now I have 2 table top playgym for him, one with a swing, one just a hook for hanging toys, also the cage top comes a play gym area which I made some "add ons". that is his favorit hang out place. (I will post some pictures of my "add ons" soon) By the way, below link is the Boing toy. http://www.thelaughingparrot.com/BOINGS.html I m sure you can research and find a cheaper one! Have fun! LisaM
A boing is a rope covered corkscrew shaped perch that hangs from the top of the cage (or a hook in the ceiling or wherever)...Google "parrot boing" and go to images and you'll see a ton of them. I have tried several types of playstands and the ones I've settled on and love are the Parrot Towers. The most important things for me are: ~ Place for food bowl and water bowl ~ Place to hang toys ~ Tray to catch most stuff before it hits the ground ~ EASY TO CLEAN!!! ~ Easy to move around (wheels) These have a varity of perches, accessories, etc., you can buy for them. My favorite perches for the cages are "safety pumice perches" and cholla wood perches (along with rope perches...basically, a variety of sizes, shapes and textures. Happy researching! Lyric
I think what matters most is that the bird will use and enjoy the playgym and that it is safe. Also things to consider is how easy is it to keep clean, having a good tray underneath to catch the mess would be ideal. It should have some hooks or places to hang toys so the bird won't become bored with it in time.
