Dusty1709 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Hi know this question will have been asked. What does it mean when you put a baby grey in its cage and it then scratches at their food bowl, its like Dusty is trying to dig a hole and gets itself in weird and wonderful positions. Is she trying to get out ? Advice would be appreciated.

Post edited by: Dusty1709, at: 2009/01/22 23:03
Dusty1709 Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Meant to post this pic of Dusty and my OWA Gizmo
danmcq Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 The scratching is normal behaviour and it may also be that your Grey wants out. Sometimes they just do it to be scratching. Nice photo of them. Thanks for posting it. :-)
Jane08 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 If it's a baby it can also be scratching to try and remove the poop from the nest. They do this when they are still in the nest all together. Our female did it when we first got her home, just ignore it and she will stop.
casper Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Mine sometimes still do this when they are settling down on a night. It seems that most greys do this. Beautiful photo! Thanks for sharing:)
Luvparrots Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Gorgeous picture of Dusty and Gizmo. Thanks for sharing.
