Goralka08
I've always wanted a Quaker Parrot. There is just something about those chubby cheeks lol. Anyways, one just popped up on craigslist and I feel horrible for the little guy. Here is a picture: His right wing definitely looks broken and he is definitely a plucker. I'm contemplating "saving" this little dude. I know his feathers may never grow back, but I'd love to give it a good home with TLC. Ugh. I just don't know what to do. Goralka08
Never mind... I was in contact with the lady, but she said someone is coming to get him today. Looks like it wasn't meant to be.
mjames74
Well at least it's a good chance the one coming to get him feels the same as you. Most people won't buy a bird that looks like that as a first bird or impulse buy.
Poppy
I do hope he has gone to a loving home that will look after him and nurse him back to full health .Why do people get these beautiful birds and not look after them ? It makes so mad and upset.
Goralka08
I know! It's so sad to see these birds all plucked and broken winged. If my bird hurt its self, especially a wing...I'd be freaking out and RUNNING to the vet! I guess the lady who had him up on craigslist fosters unwanted birds and places them into homes. Why she does it on craigslist, I don't know. She said a man turned him in because once the wing was broken, the bird freaked out and started plucking itself. I guess she wanted to try to find a home by the end of the day for him because another bird is coming in for fostering. She said she'll keep my number if any more quakers come through. judygram
Kimberly, I am sure if it was meant to be you will find another quaker to add to your flock, just keep your eyes open and you know I am rooting for you.
