BaxtersMom
I would love to put videos on youtube. I have plenty of movies shorts from my digital cameras that I would love to share but can't get them up on youtube. I am wondering if it is what we are working with. First off I use DSL which is fast enough for me in everything else I do on the computer but according to the "Slowski" commercials is slower than most. We have 2 digital cameras. Mine takes very clear excellent quality 3 to 4 minute movies. I tried posting a 20 second clip on youtube and 2 hours later it was still uploading:( so I gave up on it. With my camera, I can not even email my movies to friends because they say they are too large. I can also only get three or four of these videos on a disk and it wont' hold anymore My husbands camera takes a little bit less quality movies but still clear, just not as clear as mine. He can fit about 15 videos on a disk when he downloads them to disk and he can send them in emails too. We have not tried to download his videos on Youtube yet so I am not sure if his would go through quicker. I am just wondering if there are any tips about downloading and how long should normally take to upload a 2 or 3 minute video? Will it be impossible for me to even try since I have DSL ? (it's a landline through my phone but not dial-up) Is it my camera? Is it the DSL? Do I need to upgrade my internet connection to cable or something? And for those who do it..How long does it take you guys to get your videos up? I would really like to get into this century and start posting some videos. Please help!!

Post edited by: BaxtersMom, at: 2009/01/04 21:
Goralka08
Can you try saving your video into a program called windows movie maker and then upload it? I've found that when a video takes long to upload on youtube, then it's the format that it's not liking. If you have it in the right format, then it will take 5 minutes or less with DSL. If you're using QT (quick time) then save it as .mov and you should be fine.
