feather splitting

gan any one help my grey has some split flight feathers how do i stop this

I don't get it. Is your bird splitting his own flight feathers, or they are already split, or did it break a blood feather and it's bleeding?

 

I know that if our grey is being clumsy and slips and hits a feather, then it frays a little. Is this what you're talking about?

 

Or if the cage is too small and the tail feathers hit the bars, the the tail feathers will split and fray.

What do you mean by *splitting* ? Describe what you're seeing and also let us know where this splitting is occuring and what direction the splitting is on the feather/feathers. Tip of feather to the base of the feather or is it left to right on the feather?

If you can take a picture that would also help.
