Julie
I've done a lot of research on these, and I have had one of the Green Gourmet pans for two months now. It's great and my birds are fine. They also use minimal heat to get hot. They never smell like chemicals when you heat them, even the first time. Obviously you don't want to burn anything in them, but the same is true for stainless steel or any other pan you would cook with. I was going crazy using stainless steel that everything stuck to, so this has been great. The only downside is that this cookware isn't cheap, but it's well worth it. http://www.cuisinart.com/catalog/product.php?product_id=794&item_id=986&cat_id=366 http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=113717&RN=0 http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=16034185<br><br>Post edited by: Julie, at: 2008/12/12 11:

fairymyst78
I have seen this set in person at my local Target for $99.00!! http://www.target.com/Green-Pan-Set-Black-Aluminum/dp/B001D6MQM0/sr=1-15/qid=1229182884/ref=sr_1_15/188-8681017-4915048?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Agreen%20pan%20set&page=
poochbabe
Is everyone sure that there are NO PFTEs in the Green cookware? I just saw them in Target and thought about adding some, at least frying pans for eggs, but after losing all my birds to a PTFE incident I am so freaked out by anything that says non stick. I just rescued a 9 mo. old Grey and I would die myself if anything happened to him/her.
dhorje
I saw this on ebay. Is this the same? http://cgi.ebay.com/CUISINART-Classic-Nonstick-Anodized-10-Skillet-Pan-NEW_W0QQitemZ400033347369QQihZ027QQcategoryZ20629QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262
danmcq
The True Green Technology behind "Bird Safe" non-stick cookware is call Thermalon. Look specifically for that name when checking out the non-stick cookware you are looking at. It is tested safe to 850 degrees. Here is a link to the company that invented it with the description of the technology used. The site has other interesting facts regarding Teflon and it's dangers as well. http://www.thermolon.com/technical/technology A few shopping links: http://kitchen-dining.hsn.com/todd-english-thermolon_c-qc_a-2117-4808_xc.aspx?prev=hp!4808&rdr=1&sourceid=googbg&cm_mmc=Paid%20Search%20Brand-_-Google-_-Cooking-_-thermolon http://cgi.ebay.com/-GreenPan-8%22-Open-Fry-Pan--Non-Stick-Thermolon_W0QQitemZ280311463292QQcmdZViewItem http://www.bizrate.com/cooking_baking/products__keyword--greenpan+thermolon+cookware.html
dhorje
Since Thermolon is made of aluminium, how about the risk of getting aluminium poisoning? I mean us not the parrots.
danmcq
Unless you try to eat the pans, you'll be ok. ;-)
