ranaz Posted March 26, 2009 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Thanks Dave for the information. I have discussed this with Kookies vet, since Kookie really likes shelled peanuts. He told me that even human grade shelled peanuts might carry a lot of germs or even micro-organisms that might cause worms and diseases to the bird. He suggested to heat the oven and bake the peanuts for a period of 5 to 10 minutes. This will kill most germs, but its important not to keep them longer so that they wouldnt over-roast or burn.
