Ajilon
I put Ty on a playstand yesterday that I thought I had pulled far enough away from my fish tank. I guess I didn't. Somehow he'd gotten ahold of the cord to my brand new $450 powerhead and chewed it. I *think* my husband can fix it, but WOW was I ever mad! If I put him on the other playstand, he eats my drapes. I have more vent holes in my drapes than my window screens! Grrr! I need a bigger house! SO.....Anyone got any good macaw recipes? Are they better baked or fried? siobha9
{Feel-good-0002006E} I'm rather partial to parrot stew myself. Makes a nice variation to Irish stew Poor Liath and Oisin are always being threatened with Parrot stew for dinner  Recipe is potato, carrot, turnip, onion, and a very naughty parrot! Luvparrots
My family orginally came from the islands, macaw is best roasted. V.. E.. R.. Y.. slowly. Place a small amount of water at the bottom of the roasting pan and set the temperature at 325 Degrees to slowly roast... basically like you would your Thanksgiving turkey.{Feel-good-0002006E} In fact Thanksgiving is just around the corner:evil: JUST JOKING GUYS!!! I have this same problem, about not having room that is. My furniture is large and my air vents are all over the windows and my doorways are to small to move my new cage through without removing the skirt. So I'm very worried about how I'm going to see that my new baby is comfortable. So I feel your pain.
Ajilon
*sigh* he's 2, and not quite the brightest bulb in the pack. I'm certain he got shocked from eating the cord. I heard him make this really weird scream. The only other time I've ever heard him scream like that is when he was chewing on his perch and both of them hit the bottom of the cage. He sat there for a while looking confused and bewildered as to what happened. I could write a book on some of the weird things Ty does. I think his former owner must have painted a room or something with him in it. He's missing quite a few brain cells.

Tycos_mom
Mabie its all in his name. My Greys name is Tyco and she ges called TY for short and she is always getting into something she's not supposed to she eats all the trim around my doors and windows. she actually chewed a big hole in the wall behind her cage. I moved her cage away from the wall after that. If I don't watch her all the time she goes around to all the bird cages and tosses all the food dishes across the room. I'm tellen you its got to be the name mabie I change it . {Feel-good-0002006E}

PrettyPax
All these recipes sound quite tempting  Pax has been a very naughty parrot today. I turned my back for a second and discovered her chewing on my cell phone charger. My boyfriend has already had to replace two chargers because of her! You'd think I'd be better at bird proofing my house by now.

rierie
oh my I think I am just getting started from the sounds of it.... Charlie likes the trim on the wall... but since I moved his cage he hasnt bothered it no more... But this morning, when I eat and am done, I always leave some food on the plate and sit it in the floor for the dog, well I gave it to him, charlie climbed off his cage, I was talking to my husband, knew charlie was on the floor but wasnt paying attention, yep charlie went to check out what snoopy was doing.... bark, screaming and I looked down and snoopy was standing his ground... charlie had beaked at the plate.... I yelled at snoopy picked charlie up and told him.... be careful snoopy will have parrot stew for dinner... poor charlie just looked at me like what did I do.... I told snoopy bad dog and he just looked at me like he is trying to take my food... gotta watch those dogs...

Tycos_mom
I wish Tyco was scared of new things. I guess I taught her to well because since I've had her she is a very confident bird and not afraid of anything.
