how much do cags typcally cost

I paid £800.00 for my first and £750.00 for the youngest. The price depends on where you buy your bird from, either pet shop,breeder or private sale. Also on the age of the bird.

We got our baby for $850US the next day the price advanced to $1200US because they were close to weaning. We took our baby home needing 2 feedings perday but eating food too. Though it seems the recommendation is to purchase fully weaned birds.

The local shop in my area charges $1700 (Canadian Dollars) for a fully weaned baby CAG. I chose to get my TAG from a breeder on the other side of the country for $1150 plus shipping. He was 4+ months old, and a prize winning baby (came with his trophy!)

We bought our TAG for $1200. We are getting him from a bird store in NM who got him from FL. There are no breeders around here.

Well I paid $750 dollars for mine fully weaned from a private breeder of exotic birds. Here where I live in Miami Fla $1,000 is an average price.B)

I checked a few breeders in the Vancouver Canada area and the average is $1200 for Tags and $1300 to $1500 for Cags I paid $700 for Tyco but shes a rescue. I've also checked out a few pet stores and they run from $1700 to $2500 depending on which store you get it from. I for One would never buy a bird from the pet store I know enough breeders that know even more breeders that I can always find a wonderful baby bird with a devoted breeder looking after it and making sure the baby's get plenty of love and socializing.

i got mine for around £550 i think, and i had to wean it for a few weeks.

 

 

If/when i get my next one, i would get it fully weaned, saves a lot of hassle. :side:

 

But i still LOVE poppy!!

Here in Missouri, US, the Congos are between $900-$1200. The TAG's usually are a little cheaper (but I don't know why- they are just as exciting!!) It's interesting how much the price varies for these birds.

It seems TAGS are a lil cheaper here in Houston also. It seems those of you that got your babys for under $1000 either got them from a breeder rather than pet store or not fully weaned, except Africa!

We paid $850 for Lacey 3 weeks ago, fully weaned, from an awesome breeder in Calif. It cost another $175 to have her shipped to Alaska. But as someone else stated....priceless

Are you looking a Pet Stores? $2500 would be an outrgeous price to pay. Unless it came with a huge cage and a 1 karat diamond necklace. ;-)
