I am a pre-veterinary student who is fascinated with with all sorts of critters! I got my Congo, Doorknob, about two years ago. He is awesome. We chat, watch TV, do crossword puzzles....well I do crossword puzzles. I have been fortunate to have had such a good experience with all of my birds. See ya around! D.

judygram Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Hello D and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Doorknob. Yes that certainly is an unusual name for a grey but I like it, you probably won't find another one with that name. Just how many birds do you have, you mention all your birds, do you have them now or are you talking about the birds you have had in your entire life? If you have any other parrots what are they? Good choice for a profession, we need more vets and if you could major in avian speciality as we have a need for them, just browse thru the threads, it is mentioned many times of owners having to travel great distances to find an avian specialist. Take some time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Doorknob you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
Talon Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hi Dusty, and Welcome to our family! I bet you have a lot of good advice to add here! I look forward to your visits with us. Any photo's of your bird....
cdelatorrejr Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Welcome Dusty! I read your profile and I think you got us beat when it comes to having a zoo at home - I'm so jealous. See you around.

I had a Senegal when I was younger. I don't think I get any more birds, these kids need lots of attention the way it is!
judygram Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I hear ya and especially since you are still in college, any more would be spreading yourself mighty thin.:cheer:
