Toni
Today I received pics of my new Amazons. The male is in great shape however, the female has a naked chest.I know there are threads on plucking but I feel it will take a while to read through them to get my answer. The breeder told me that she is plucking because she wants to nest.Could this be true?
M2MM
If she's old enough for that, then I would say it is possible.
lovemyGreys
Hi Toni, yes it is possible she has plucked her own feathers either for nesting or something called a brood patch,im not sure if Amazons do this but a brood patch is where the female exposes her skin allowing more warmth to her eggs.
