South Africans - Adoption posted on Gumtree

I thought I'd put the link here in the hopes that someone with experience would want to adopt these gorgeous birds.

 

I can only imagine the kind of people that are going to try and adopt them for the wrong reasons.:unsure:

I may be wrong. But this looks suspiciously like an ad that was posted on Gumtree Ireland. I just looked and the ad is gone, but even the photo is identical if my memory serves me correctly. I wonder is it a scam?

I have no idea, it could be, was worried cause they are such special birds and there are just too many people here that would take advantage and mistreat them.

Yes the ad is nearly identical to ones here in the UK,As you know the Hyacinth Macaw is an expensive bird to purchase if your fortunate to find them for sale.Highly unlikely you would be offered them for adoption,screams scam

Don't be sorry;) It could have been genuine. But for hyacinths are so rare and expensive, that obviously these people use that to prey on people and make money. When I saw it in Ireland, I was half tempted to call just to see how much money they were trying to make on each individual and how they were going to do it. I decided it wasnt worth the effort.

iTS A SCAM THAT SAME AD HAS BEEN ALL OVER THE NET FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS iF YOU ANSWER IT YOU WILL GET SOMEONE TELL YOU TO JUST SEND 2 HUNDRED DOLLARS AND i'LL SEND THE BIRDS RIGHT TO YOUR DOOR wELL FROM SOUTH AFRICA THEIR WOULD BE A TON OF RED TAPE THERE IS NO WAY FOR 2 HUNDRD DOLLARS SHE COULD SEND YOU ANYTHING. iF i'M SHOUTING ITS BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FURIOS.
