rickster
I was given a beautiful tree philodendron and researched to see if it would be safe to have in the house with my bird and some articles say yes and some say no.Does anyone have this plant coexsisting with their bird and is it toxic to a PARRot or not? Thanks for the help.
BMustee
If some say yes and some say no when it comes to anything toxic to birds you should always go with toxic. Like some lists say that Garlic is safe, yet one of the members here lost his grey after it ate it. The best list that I have seen and use for my guidlines says that philodendrons are not safe. http://www.plannedparrothood.com/plants.html If you really like the plant, put it somewhere you know 100% your parrot won't get into it. judygram
Philodendron is listed as a toxic plant so therefore is not safe, keep it away from your grey, you wouldn't want to take the chance.
