Ronda477 Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 LOL I forgot what I said Elmo was!!! But can't wait to know! Hope you hop on here right away and let us know Berna!
MommaFawkes Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 I will stick with female...unless the results are male, then I say male!!! HAHA just kidding!!
BMustee Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 Hahaha...thats always the safe way to bet Momma I'll be heading to the pet store at about 3pm EST and will get home about 9pm EST so be on the look out...I'll post the results as soon as I get home!
judygram Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 My money is on female but then I have been known to be wrong about stuff.
Imme Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Clearly a female because you gave her a male name before knowing  . Guarenteed.
nevjoe Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 My Grandmother would say "No matter, as long as it's healty" Funny how things stay with you even if they pass on to heaven. Joe
Talon Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Well seeing as we thought Talon was a MALE for a year and a half, we found out he was a SHE!!! IT sure took a while for us to adapt to that change after calling him a he!! :pinch: I hope you don't have to experience that! And HELLO............We're all here waiting.........hurry up and post the results!!!
judygram Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Yeah Berna, its after 9 pm in fact it is 9:45 you're late.
judygram Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I knew it, I just knew it, thanks Berna for the results, are you happy about the results?
BMustee Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 I know, I know...I'm LATE! One girl was out sick and another had to be at the hospital with her mom so we all had to double up the work. We didn't even close the store till 9 because there were still a bunch of people buying dogs...why the bird department had to wait is beyond me.
BMustee Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 Oh I'm so happy.:woohoo:  :silly: Females are harder to find so that makes...her...special. Plus, if the whole people changing thing is right, females do it less.
BMustee Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 I'll still probably call her a him...she already says she's a good boy!
BMustee Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 The ending results of the poll where... 64% thought MALE (7 votes) 36% thought FEMALE (4 votes)
BMustee Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 There are just more males born for some reason. I have noticed this with finches too. I would say about 75% of my babies are male. Thats about the same as the results of the DNA tests that we do at work...most of the birds we test are male.
judygram Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 That is unusual Berna, you would think it would be about even, interesting.....
BMustee Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 You would think...I thought that maybe there are more males born because A) Males leave the family flock to find a new one and would be picked off by preditors more. B) Male finches are brighty colored making them easier to be picked off my preditors. Just what I was thinking...I should start looking into this and see if I'm onto something.
MommaFawkes Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I have noticed the male thing too.. except I can't find a male quaker for the life of me. The one male bird im looking for, and its nowhere to be found..figures!!! LOL!
