PapillonDeNuit
Just a little while ago, Timmy and I were hanging out in my room. I guess he was feeling antsy and jumped and flew - he does that. But this time he landed on my oil palette, which I keep high up on a shelf. My little guy got himself some blue feet! Thankfully, my mom sprung to action and held Timmy while I took a wet wipe and cleaned his piggies the best he would let me. Poor Mom got bit a-plenty! I then took Timmy down to the kitchen and had him stand in a dish of warm, soapy water. Not all oil pigments are created equal. Timmy landed in a glob of pthalo blue, pthalo short for pthalocyanine, and yeah... If I had to pick one, I would have rather he stepped in raw umber, which is basically just dirt and linseed oil, I think? (Wikipedia says I'm wrong). At least it's not the titanium white, which has a toxicity warning on the label. Has anybody else had to deal with something like this?
Timbersmom
Oh my! They are just like toddlers aren't they? I've never had a similar experience so have no advice.
neoow
I've not been in a similar situation before but it sounds like you did everything you could. You cleaned off his feet and it doesn't sound like he had chance to ingest any, so hopefully all is ok! Alfie doesn't like going on the floor very often so I always move anything breakable or destructible on to the floor. If he does end up on the floor he's normally quite cautious and moves around slowly enough that I can move anything out of harms way.
