Charlie Parker
Hi, Well, charlie Parker lost just one of his flight feathers that got trimmed when he had his first wing trim when he was a baby. He took flight off of me today and it came out while trying to fly. I picked it up and was shocked on the size of the feather. Wow! That came out of you? It was hollow and white. It was good to see him loose one of those cut ones.

Acappella
You'll be amazed at how long it takes all those trimmed feathers to fall out, and each one is a mini celebration on your way to having a fully flighted bird.
judygram
They will lose several at the same time and usually the same ones on the other side, this is an ongoing process, hope you are not going to clip any more but leave him flighted.
Charlie Parker
Yes Judy, I do plan on leaving his feathers alone, I never wanted them clipped in the first place but he came to me that way. He lost another one else today, yay! I've noticed charlie chopping on some shells that are attached to one of his toys lately, wonder if loosing feathers makes one want to chew on sea shells? Thank you guys for your replies.
kins2321@yahoo.com
Not sure about the seashells, but as Sophie chews on everything here including my precious seashell collection, maybe a calcium enriched perch? Nancy
Greywings
He could be needing a little more calcium in his system and the shells make that easy for him.
