Devin Corso Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Thank you all so much, I will integrate all of your advice. Katana, your explanation helps it make so much more sense to me. Analogies really help me personally. Luvparrots, I will make sure to incorporate that routine, that is a great idea. She already says a lot of routine things like "Ok let's go in" when my mom takes our bulldog downstairs to her crate to sleep at night, and she says "Good morning girls" when my mom and I go in the room in the morning, (from my mom greeting Yoshi and Korra while I was away). I do have some good news! She goes a little bit closer to me, so she seems a bit more interested in me when I talk to her, and today when I fed her, instead of reaching out to bite me she made a HUGE step and bowed her head with her neck feathers puffed (beak tucked/non-aggressive) so I could pet her neck (tickle-tickle ). Oh man I felt like I was flying myself!

katana600 Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 That is great news! Just relaxing and understanding her a little better and giving her room to warm up to you again may have helped her to relax as well. I love seeing her move toward you again.
Devin Corso Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 I have very good news! Korra has accepted me back! I can hold her, walk with her, and snuggle just like we used to before I went to college. Thank you everyone for your support, all of you REALLY helped me. ☺ Here is proof!
SRSeedBurners Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 She made you pay. Now she says "don't you do that naughty running off again - you hear me? Or next time it will be worse, now where's my treat?" She's a real cutie.
kins2321@yahoo.com Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 They DO make you pay! LOL! Sophie doesn't punish us anymore, whether we go on vacation, or off to college. She just gets sad and quiet. We know what to expect, other college kid that is away all year, steps in, pays more attention.Babysitter for the week I am on vacation in October, pays a ton of attention during the week I am gone. she does quite well. Nancy
katana600 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Congratulations Devin for having the patience with Korra to work toward a resolution and give her the space she needed to come around and be your buddy again.
kins2321@yahoo.com Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 They NEVER forget, whom they have loved and trusted! You just needed a little punishment, as others have said! LOL! Sophie sees Ryan once a year, but she talks to him all the time. When he comes home, she runs out to see him and loves him to death! He leaves his bedroom door open so she can fly into his room and snuggle his feet. ( she has a foot fetish for Ryan). The next day, she will play hard to get. He knows her games...plays the game, and she is happy. Within less than 24 hours, Sophie and Ryans relationship, is back on track. Nancy
Timbersmom Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Typical grey trait I guess! Timber certainly gives me the cold shoulder if I leave him for more than a day. Glad things are "back to normal!"
kins2321@yahoo.com Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Devin... all will be good! Be patient and consistent, stick to your rules, but be empathetic! Sophie gets soooo mad, when she is annoyed with me! I just great her with patience kindness and love. Her achilles heel. Nancy
