Introduction

Hi all.

I am a Congo African Grey owner (named Woodstock) of 10 years. I joined this forum to hopefully identify an abnormal issue with his feathers. He has been healthy and never plucked any feathers and I have never seen a molt that looked like this, so there is concern. His diet and environment is unchanged. His behavior is unchanged as well -- he is mobile and still very talkative.

If anyone can identify based from the foto?

It does look like plucking to me, be don't automatically assume the reason is mental. There are physical reasons a bird may start plucking. I would start with a visit to an avian vet for a full exam to rule them out first. In th meantime is there a change to the flock? Have schedules or people changed? Has the cage or something around the cage moved?
