He Isn't Pooping Right Diarrhea - I am worried

The office i take him to is open 24 hours so we just spent the last few hours in a room at the vet's office. He started to poop completely normal after about an hour, and I made sure he did it a couple more times before I took him home. I think he is okay, but i will keep a close eye on him just to make sure. I looked all through the house to see if he could have gotten into to something, but nothing was different. The only thing i can think of is I was gone later than usual and maybe he was upset and/or I put red palm oil in his food and maybe there was a chunk that i didn't mix up well? I will make sure and heat it a little so it will mix better next time. In the winter it is difficult to mix well into food. I hope he is truly okay.

Yeah, it sounds something similar to what our birds will do every once in a while. We freaked the first few times but we also noticed that all three knuckleheads would have the same thing which meant they were all getting it from the same source. I usually attribute it to fruit or real juicy stuff.

He is spunky and just fine today. His morning bomb was completely normal. I guess I over-reacted. I have seen unusual droppings before and rapidly connected their appearance with a colored fruit or whatever he had just eaten. No problem. I guess because i hadn't been home to witness what he had been consuming made my a little crazy. I think I NEED a life. I started taking a backpacking course and am now gone in the evening one night a week, which is my attempt to meet like-minded people (hopefully, some single men) and to experience some beautiful places.

Glad this sounds like it's over & done & "just" a scare. Very glad for you both!

The problem w/birds is there really isn't any "over reacting" to a lot of symptoms. They don't give us much, if any warning about being sick. It doesn't sound like you were anything other than a dutiful parront who got very lucky this time. Thank goodness.

Chezron...so glad you pay attention, and know when something is abnormal! Now.... as far as starting to backpack, meeting new people.... have I got a group for you! Not me.... but my sister... when she comes to visit me... she meets this group of people that she doesn't know. They backpack, bicycle, and other activities! Its national, so I would have to get details from her. She has had two knee replacements, and has become a bionic woman! LOL... As the youngest of three girls... I still have to pluck her from the ocean when we go on vacation, but I am very proud of her for getting her weight down from 300 pounds down to 142... Nancy

I'm also glad this worked out to be nothing to worry about. You know him better than anyone and if something is off, it's far better to go in to the vet and get ahead of it. As for the backpacking class, good for you! It's a great way to meet active people and who knows where it will lead. Another interesting outdoor kind of hobby my sister introduced me to recently is geocaching. You can google it, it's a bit like a treasure hunt.

Thank you for your support! I really couldn't have lived with myself if I hadn't taken him into the vet's--around midnight--thank you very much. I am so glad he is fine. He cracks me up everyday and I think he is the cutest bird to walk and fly on this earth! Truly, he makes my heart swell to twice its size every time i look at him. I treasure every moment we spend together. I am thankful he is healthy.
