(38 to 41 cm) and weight is from 500 to 700 g (19.1 to 24.64 oz.). Captives are commonly heaver. In South America only the larger Macaw species are bigger. Greywings Posted August 13, 2014 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Another interesting fact about Mealys is that they are a diverse group. They can have Blue, Purple or some Yellow patches on their heads. I have lived with one for years before she found her permanent home and can share that they can be as loud as a Cockatoo and as dusty as one. The Mealy is known by many names depending on the region that zon may live in and or subspecies. Mealy Amazon AKA. 1. Plain-colored Mealy Amazon. 2. Chapman`s Mealy Amazon. 3.
