Loco11
Just wondering...does everyone cover their birds at night?
Luvparrots
I have five birds. Four parrots and a canary. I only cover my canary at night. I have never covered the parrots. I keep my home comfortable for me so it is always pleasant.
KimKim
I cover mine, if I don't he gets mad and starts making annoying sounds when he is tired. I only cover the front and side panel on his cage. The back and other side are against the wall and the top is open.
Timbersmom
I don't cover Timber. No particular reason, the people I got him from didn't cover him so I don't either.

Greytness
Our fids are in a very active part of our household, so yes, we cover up all 8.
Inara
I don't cover Inara, but I do lower our solar shades at about 6 PM so that the light is dimmed. We are usually in another part of the house by 7 so she is not often disturbed. In the winter she moves to the dining room so that the lights are off and it is dark by early evening. Talon
I have 5 birds. All are covered at night by a dark sheet that only covers the top half. I have a busy household and it let's them no its bedtime and also gives them privacy from any goings on, even tho they all have their own room. SRSeedBurners
We cover to accomodate sleep time. Otherwise they would be up with the slightest light.
Brat Birds
I covered when Peanut was a baby. The cage they are in now is much too large for me to cover - so I don't.
judygram
I have covered my fids from day one as their cages are in the family room, the only time they are left uncovered is when we happen to be out late, we don't want to disturb them just to cover them. Acappella
I don't cover Dorian as he's in my office and I can just close the door and turn out the lights at bedtime and work wirelessly for the rest of the night.
Blair
I don't cover Amadeus. No need. I have to close the cage door when I have the girlfriend over or he will fly to the bedroom to be a pest. Otherwise I just leave the cage door open for him to do whatever. Interesting when I am in the trailer as he has to fly from the cage up to the bedroom in the front and make a hard left to the bed. He is quite adamant about being numero uno, lol. The tv is on all day for him, but I keep the cage door closed until I get home. When I go to bed the sun is usually still up, and I wake up around 3 or 4 in the morning and drink coffee until work time. Not sure if he sleeps all day, or watches tv. He loves to play on the floor with me and walk thru my arms rubbing himself. Any time I am parked at a trailer park, the neighbors say he talks and whistles at them. the blinds are always down at a trailer park so he can only hear people or animals around the trailer. JeffNOK
I cover Gracie. I think she likes her private time when ready to sleep.
kittykittykitty
We cover, otherwise Precious doesn't sleep and neither do I when I am visiting. She begs to be covered by saying, "Do you want to go to bed?" Hint, hint.

kins2321@yahoo.com
Sophie puts herself to bed at 8. No covering. Nancy
Greywings
I cover mine as they are in the active family area it does seem to allow them to relax and get settled. We often hear that reassuring beak grinding after they are covered and the occasional word or two.
jgerardo
Funny thing is Luna does not sleep in his cage. He prefers his perch in my room. He will only sleep if I go to bed. If I am awake he is awake he will not sleep until I do
incubus1310
I used to cover Ruby's cage back when I lived in a apartment but now that she sleeps in my room and I'm at home I don't bother covering her cage because it's such a hassle. At night I sometimes forget to close her cage and I'll wake up in the morning to find her perched on top of the door to her cage or inside her cage on her favorite perch. Rarely does she climb down to wake me. And if she does, it's usually cause it's around 11 or so and I've slept in lol
