Greywings
It sounds like you may be more traumatized than Bingo is. It should be a good thing that he was examined and started treatment though his appetite may drop off for a time due to the meds. Try to show him a happy time act normal and lay down your doubts as he can read you like an open book and we don't want him to buy into any negativity. He just joined your family and you feel the pull to protect him, to do the right things to help him adjust and part of that is having him vetted on the journey to help him be a strong healthy bird with a brighter future. Your emotions are understandable -all of us feel our emotions go up and down when we read about the other birds on this board, we share each others joys, tragedies and triumphs. Let us know what bacteria he is fighting and how he progresses through treatment and how you are doing too! Our love is so easily given to these Grey birds and the bond we build is a strong one.
