I made a batch of organic cooked veggies today for the birds I added Brousel Sprouts , Kale , Carrots cooked and uncooked, Brocli , Coliflower , Butternut Squash , Sweet Potatoe ,Peas ,Brown Rice and some green peppers ok right after I make this I get a call from a friend that breeds parrots and she tells me Brousel Sprouts are bad for parrots any type of cabbage is bad because it gives them gas

I need to know if this is true , I made 4 quart size bags of this mix anyone know about this ?

No pro here, but brussel sprouts are on the OK list from what I've seen. Cabbage seems to be contoversial, something about interfering with calcium absorption? But that seems to be debatable as well.

I feed brussel sprouts warm and they get DEVOURED. I also feed cabbage straight out of my salad and my Grey loves it. We have a lot of diversity here so they are practically eating different things just about daily though.

Give him the fork! LOL! I know I am a bad parrent, allow Sophie to come to the table for dinner, She pretty much eats what we eat, has her own plate. NO sauce, italian, she pretty much can taste what we taste. Root veggies, her favorite is chicken. Kids in college right now, so when they come home, they want a three course meal. I am not the greatest cook, but they think I am awesome! I just use common sense. Acidic foods... not good for a bird. Veggies are best. Proteins are great. Sunny, my sunconure, is old, always needs to be fattened up. I am okay with giving him some carbs. Mac and cheese, he LOVES! Yogurt in the morning, is shared. I don't go crazy about their diet. They have an excellent blend of minimal seeds, Harrisons diet, additional veggies, some fruits, and devinitely some table time. Nancy
