Cage Question

Cyard

Recommended Posts

I have a slightly irritating issue with my cage.

I am hoping for suggestions on getting around the issue. I have a 36 X 28 X 70 cage with a play area on the top but no place to really hang toys from the top. I am only able to attach the toys to the sides because the top is a side out tray. Does any one else have this type of cage?

I worry that hanging them only from the side is not going to be stimulating enough for them. Any suggestions are appreciated.:)

I have a few cages that are the same style. If there's a grating ( which is usually the top of the cage) on the top of the cage on which the tray slides on to, slide the tray out and put it away. Usually, those top trays are used to collect droppings but there's loads of birds out there that don't like those top trays at all and the owner just slides it out and doesn't use it.

Post edited by: MrSpock, at: 2007/10/19 05:27

Wonderful, I think I will just take out the grate and set it down in my basement. I have alot of nice natural light in my house and I myself dislike how dark it makes the bottom of the cage. I was just worried that I needed to use it for some reason.

It sounds like it is going to depend on my little guy and what he likes. So far he is very fond of bottle caps and cuddling so I think that I will just play the cage top by ear and see which one he will prefer once he gets more comfortable. Thanks everyone for all your help.:)

Guest briansmum

great advice here.

i have a split level cage, which has a small play area with a tray, i have to lift that to hook toys under it.. but brian never uses that play area. (go figure) he preferrs his stand and rope at the window. so i think i'm gonna take that tray out too! down with the trays!!
