Catching Cold?

Hey everyone I have a question, what's does an african grey do if they catch cold?

 

I heard Tooka sneezing twice today so he might be catching a cold, what can I do to stop it if that's the situation? what's the syptoms?

They don't really catch colds. They do clear their nostrils by blowing air through them. If Tooka is actually sounding like a human loud sneeze he is imitating you or another in the household.

Thanks, no he is not imitating he hasn't developed this skill yet. In the past week that he is in our home I haven't heard her sneezing so I was worried. Also my mother accidentally gave him a orange and it seems that my mother forgot to bring out the seed and ate it so I was super worried about his health and was watching her.

He sneezed once more and doing something like yawning. He closes his eyes and doing something like yawning opening his beaks.

An Orange seed will not harm your grey.

 

Greys produce a ton of Dander. When they preen and shake you can see it floating in the air and if you wear dark shirts you will see the white powder on them. This accumulates in their nares and thus the sneezing to blow that dust out.

 

NOTE: If you ever see a liquid gooey discharge from the nares, you need to see an avian vet. It would indicate an infection.
