What is this bird?

Andrew and I went to Haleakala today and saw a bunch of these birds... anyone know what they are?? We saw them mostly at around 10,000 ft. We were just curious as we think they are so cute!

They look a litle like a guinea to me. At least the shape is similiar.

Not sure what the scientific name is buy my friend use to have three she called the pea hens.

I don't know Kristin but I agree, they look similar in build to a guinea hen.

I looked it up. Its called a Chukar(Alectoris Chukar) its one of the birds in that region.
