Why do some people have more than one species of parrots ?? Why do some people rehome a parrot with baggage that may take years to unpack ?? Do you have an affliction or an addiction or are you just nuts ?? With me the jury is still out on the nuts part. There are different levels of MBS 1. One parrot = parrot lover, Only your friends believe your nuts. 2. Two parrots of the same species or not = you may be coming down with something. 3. Three parrots of the same or different species = Start packing your bags for a trip to the funny farm. 4. Four to six parrots = You are thinking of buying the funny farm. 5. Six to eight parrots = you already own the funny farm. 6. Nine to eleven parrots = you hold the mortgage to the funny farm. 7 Twelve to fourteen parrots = You hold the mortgage to more than one funny farm. 8. Fifteen to eighteen parrots = the State has taken over your estate for your own good. 9. Nineteen to twenty parrots = Your family has you committed. 10. Over twenty parrots = You become a parrot rescue. Can you find your spot on that list ?? Do more than just family members think you are nuts ?? When it comes down to it do you have A WILL that will take care of your parrots when you pass. If you took the time to read this than you have it. Have you ever gone to the store with parrot poop on your shoulder ?? Do you spend more time cooking for your parrot than for your family ?? Do you clean your Parrots cage better than you clean your house ?? Dose your parrots have more toys than your kids ?? If you have MBS than you belong on this forum. I understand now why all of my friends look at me weird(hence, because I am a parrot lover). Oh well, they don't know what their missing cause its absolutely awesome!! I might have to keep track of the number of times I have been asked "Why would anyone intentionally bring home a parrot that has baggage, makes a big mess, would like to bite you 'for no reason' and will likely outlive you?" I have an answer for that. Because the day he finally relaxes enough to sit beside me and leans into me, it is the best feeling in my life experience and I have had lots of life experience. But based on a nice loophole that my high-powered loophole finders found, we only fall into category 3 as we officially don't claim the two that my daughter takes care of. <wrings dust off hands>. I've also found that birds are different from dogs, cats, kids etc. There's a saying in the dog world that goes something similar to - you always love your own dog, others, not so much. With me that's really apt with kids too. I generally don't prefer other peoples dogs, kids and sometimes cats. However, I've found I really like other peoples birds. Must be a bird person.
