jbsmomto1
I don't understand, right now Storm eats zupreem fruit blend pellets. Not exactly what I want him on but anyway....he loves these pellets and will eat every colour but red and orange, well he will eat some orange but not all. I thought pellets were all the same despite the colour of them are they not all supposed to stay the same? Why will he not eat red ones?? I am tempted to eat some just so I can see if they taste different then the others but I jut don't have that much courage. I am thinking its a waste to have to throw away the reds and some orange... danmcq
It's funny, but most times they have certain colors they will or will not eat. In general, all parrots are fairly wasteful eaters regardless of the food. They take a bite then toss or just toss somethings for the sake of tossing them. kins2321@yahoo.com
danmcq is so right. They are extremely wasteful! When I hired a teenager to babysit in October, his mom came to help. She would scold Sophie for throwing food. She asked me why Sophie enjoyed throwing food so much? LOL!I explained, a Grey is like a one year old in a highchair. They just never get out of it! murfchck
Lol, yup! We have more pellets on the floor than in the bowls! Lucky my chihuahuas love them! It is the nut blend so they think its peanut butter!
JeffNOK
Lol--It is my understanding that the different colors of Zupreem are indeed different flavors. I will admit that I did taste the grape one and it tasted like grapes. So, my guess is that your grey just doesn't like the flavor of the red ones. kitt4kaz
Felix eats Zupreem fruity blend also and won't eat the yellow ones. I've tried to convert him to Roudybush or Harrison's with ZERO luck. I even mixed Zupreem fruity with Higgins Intune. They look almost the same to me. Not to Felix. He won't touch the Higgins. Picky! Picky! Picky!
judygram
The others are all right, greys are picky eaters and throw more food than they consume, very wasteful but hey they are greys and we love them regardless of the mess and waste, I am lucky that Josey eats Harrisons pellets and she doesn't throw many out. kave70
I've noticed that the less I put in the bowl, the less on the floor. If I'm home throughout the day I can refill and there is very little waste. If I have to go to work, then I fill it higher, but know I'm coming home to half the bowl on the bottom of the cage.
