I'm a firm believer in following " bird signs". His pupils are constricted, -- Nancy( a warning), his feathers are ruffled( I am happy), conflicting signals! You do such a good job with your photograpy, and of course you have a beautiful subject. I love the contrast of the pink leash against the colors of nature including Cocoa's feathers.
